Just an opinion but yes, I would consider very relevant. RR currently running at 65% pre-covid levels while airlines are in excess of 80%. China & Ukraine are almost certainly the reasons why RR are not, as yet, up to those levels. Whilst difficult to predict when the Ukraine conflict will end not to mention the Chinese government confident & comfortable with opening the airport gates but the latter is likely to get back to more like normality sooner than the former. It will then take some time (air miles) to produce the much needed profits from it's servicing contracts. You're proberly looking medium term for the turn-around with only an end to the war returning anything like full normality for this very important RR division.

Yep, this could simply be a shrewd investment by LGEN or maybe something potenrially more strategical as they look to capitalise on the property market and they see CSH as a takeover target?

It is Punter64. I do wish they would spell out due justification for such purchases within the RNS. It would be interesting to learn or understand their rationale?

Yep, the SP certainly struggled today didn't it! Ha ha ha. So glad to be wrong.

The RR SP might struggle today even giving back the gains of last week... partly if not wholly down to China refusing to relax restrictions. Might see some turbulence for a while as we/China get through this wintertime where Covid's at it's highest transmissible level. I see a remarked SP improvement when China does relax it's restrictions though so potentially it good be a good time to invest during the inevitable dips? Each to their own of course.

I haven't based my purchases of RR shares on any SMR success if truth be told as I believe there is more than enough in the pipeline to justify my original investments. It might take a couple or even a few years to fully materialise it's true potential and make a great return but boy, if the SMR's do come off this really would be the icing on the make!

Even though it's still languishing in the doldrums it's been a much better day today for the SP. For those of the many posters (not) on this board, the WWH October overview is a good watch. The CEO speaks with a great deal of bullish optimism. We'll see.

My Opinion: It certainly appears RR will struggle to make any headway for the remainder of this year so SP might struggle to perform in any meaningful way. The latest 0.75bps rise will likely become a further headwind for (much needed) air miles as people prioritise paying their mortgages etc.etc. over holidays. China continues to be a Dennis the Menace which doesn't help but rather than become a Desperate Dan I would rather maintain steadfast patience until the SP eventually becomes a Billy Wizz. As it surely will.

Lot's of headwinds that's for sure and while one cannot legislate for any wrongdoing of any kind, I believe the senior management team at LGEN have always come across as genuine and sincere. Hope that trust isn't misplaced but I for one have every faith in the team to do what's right by their shareholders.

This stock, as suspected, continues to suffer more than most. It's almost as bad as Boohoo and that's saying something. I wrote in a previous post I think it might get 2yrs or so before it recovers. It needs to go up 60% before I break even! I might revise that to never! As always, naff all from the trust managers. Shameful. Yes, I'm a very frustrated investor. Anybody else?
