9% down at close today and very difficult to guess a bottom. Astonishing but also maybe unsurprising consideringwhat is going on with Credit Suisse. No BOD announcement and unlikely to get one from BARC. From a personal point of view, looks like I'm going to review my strategy here and one from short to medium hold to long term hold. I want to resist selling for a thumping loss. I suspect there are many others in the same, leaking boat!

Maybe due to the fact that our stock market is more weighted toward financial institutions?

Gary: I quite agree. Didn't realise significant shorts had opened on LGEN though so thanks for sharing that with us. For so long had my head above water here but now we'll and truly drowning. Sigh. I'm heavily invested here and unable to sustain any loss so my strategy is hold and hold some more if need be as that was always my aim. I would implore the BOD to make some form of announcement to help calm the waters here but I suspect they're busy trying to understand it's own risk before they do?

Yes, Credit Suisse could go the same way as SVB as depositors continue to withdraw large swathes of funds. Absolute bloodbath. One man's meat is another man's poison though so some opportunity this could be?

It is PIGPOG... I've never seen anything quite like it. Trying not to panic. I have zero confidence in the board of directors to issue an RNS that tries to calm the waters. They've probably got their heads in the sand. Someone at BARC needs to get a grip and make a statement otherwise the SP looks like it will continue to crash?

I'm normally so bullish on LGEN I really am but I've absolutely no idea now if this financial crisis that appears to have left no stone unturned is one we'll ever emerge from? Unbelievable state of affairs this it really is. LGEN & Barclays have been absolutely battered!

There's always something going on in the world to negatively impact the stock market. If it isn't one thing it's another. We can never ever 2nd guess what new news will be fed into our lives but what we do know is that LGEN will always bounce back. In it's 200yr history, it has never failed to do so.

That's some drop today! What on earth is going on with Barclays? I certainly know what's going down with Barclay's... and that's Barclays!

All banks being clobbered due to contagion fears following the collapse of SVB's stock price. It feels like one piece of bad news after another. Barclays (who else) suffering the greater after shock.

I've been invested here for a few years now and from the moment I first invested I don't think I've seen a profit. It feels like China goes from one crisis to another. If it's not regulation or Taiwan military threat it's something else. A bit of a basket case. I also have another by way of WWH not to mention Barclays which is a complete head the ball! All 3 could take years to recover if ever! I

I can't make my mind up which is worst... this or Worldwide Healthcare (WWH)!

Anybody out there or am I the only person invested here?

It feels like every day this share falls further & further... all BARC and no bite!

After reading both part 1 and part 2 of the RNS I am genuinely taken aback at the drop in SP so far today. As I was reading Nigel Wilson's summary I thought neutral at the very least despite uncle Jerome Powell's hawkish mindset. Still, LGEN forms a significant part of my retirement fund using the (growing) dividend payments as a source of tax free income (by way of an ISA tax wrapper) so the 5% increase in the same is most welcome in so far as in my own personal situation is concerned. Disappointing market reaction then to what was an extremely good set of results coupled with a future positive outlook but certainly not the end of the world by any means. We all have our investment strategies but mine is to continue reinvesting the dividend in more shares until I decide to take them in income. Congratulations to all those posted on here that sold yesterday and bought back in again today and top slicing profits... again, not a bad strategy.

Took me a while to read through part 1 but the overarching tune is one of stability in an uncertain world and a business being built with the future in mind...

Excellent article Meconopsis and thanks for sharing it. Interesting to read what the analysts are anticipating here. If, as many of us suspect and LGEN do deliver a strong & robust set of results you would be forgiven for thinking this would provide an SP boost on Wednesday. The SP growth has been minimal this past 12 months or so save for the divi but perhaps that's about to change?

Buy-backs commence on the 13th March but not sure if this will bolster the SP?

Quite agree badjob. BARC has so much more potential but the share price will continue to underperform it's peers as it's so badly run. It seems to go from one crises to another. Until there are dramatic changes in the boardroom, along with changes in attitude, BARC will continue to be a short term play. I suspect many investors here are underwater with BARC. Some more than others.
