What we can surmise from the Gardin statement is not one of the attendees, after having witnessed this stunning live demonstration, agreed or requested to test the system. Further it would seem not one of them has since approached QBT during the preparation of this RNS statement with an offer to test, knowing full well other major players were being shown the same live demonstrations.

First of all there are lots of provisos involved here but if you run a given ASIC faster it will use more power. The circuits consume energy when they switch as opposed to being in a static state therefore higher clock speeds uses more energy.

Of course dropping down to a smaller feature ASIC e.g. 7 nm to 5 nm will run faster using less energy

No it isn't clear, the same number of inputs are processed but only 70% by the SHA256 circuit therefore we can expect an energy saving of 30%. The time it takes to process inputs is less clear and doesn't necessarily mean the inputs are processed 30% quicker. Although from what Gardin has said suggests there could be a speed increase.

The point I was making is there is no risk, the savings are potentially huge but the affect on the intricacies of mining are ignored. Who knows how the mining would change if all miners used Gardin's method C, assuming it actually exists!

In fact what would be demonstrated. Bitcoin mining is a numbers game of probability, you could spend many weeks looking at a mining rig and see what exactly?

A total lack of detail in every aspect is a serious cause for concern. Pretty videos will impress many, that's its intended purpose.

Why should it be a big risk? Gardin has made his claims - he can reduce electricity use by 30%, it has been rigorously tested, there's masses of laboratory data and now there is a pretty video.
