Apparently an acre of trees will offset the co2 of 18 average people, I'm not sure how that equates to a frequent flyer, it probably means you will need to plant some more, I understand the trees store the co2 until burnt on a log burner when its released back into the atmosphere. In summary we need more trees and fewer log burners, with global warming we should need fewer logs so it will probably equal itself out. Hopefully lloyds share price will grow faster than the trees required.
I'm in this for the long term dividends, just hard to know whether it's a good time to increase my holding or, if the dividend is to be cut, time to invest elsewhere. I don't have as many of these as I'd like, but too many to leave if the dividend is cut.
With the consolidation and the buybacks I'm amazed this is where it is, even with the market's as they are, hopefully the chairman thinks we have seen the bottom.
It's going to be an interesting couple of months, I don't think the brexit turmoil is helping with the market down generally, Sla seem to be underperforming them all! Is it time to top up, bail out or keep hold?
It's along time until April, if they hold the dividend this will jump rapidly but from what level? Could be the best dividend return on the market!
Cash has appeared in my isa account after close! Happy days, what are my chances of buying back in below 270p?
Thanks oneplustwo, I hold my sl. Shares in my isa so assumed it would be paid into it, otherwise I will lose that allowance. Nothing in my bank so i guess a cheque is on the way!
Has anyone seen their cash yet? We are now in a situation where 8x34 won't buy back the shares taken!
We all moan about about buybacks, am I the only one who thinks a buyback would have been simpler and would have made more Sense? I'm sure the costs involved this way far exceed those for a buyback and we would know where we stand!
Farewell Hawk, it's been expensive knowing you, reminds me of my ex-wife!
If there are 10 million more Buys than sells, surely this would have gone up?
Am I the only one who finds it strange there are so many Buys on this share today? All I can assume is that some are ill informed, total gamblers or in the know?
Hi Camboy, nicely put, I don't think you can do much better than SLA, nice dividend with potential for growth, esp if you can in below 4. Do you have any Banks in your portfolio? just an area I'm looking at.
Yes it is quite normal for a stock to drop by the dividend on ex-divi day, the hope is it will climb back towards the next divi, the aim is to invest when the share price looks low and hold for the long term gaining value through growth and dividend, there is little value to be had jumping between shares just for the dividend.
Make sure you are using your ISA account as much as possible.
It was me, thought it worth a top up at this price!
