it's certainly dispiriting to have people hand out insults to other contributors. do those same people walk around 'in real life' and just insult strangers?
i believed in the company and its potential, and purchased shares. that makes me an investor, not a dimwit. the fact the company let everyone down so badly is on them, not me.
but hey, i'm sure bilbobagholder will call me a **** now
Yes if I read my spreadsheet correctly, i've managed to turn £1500 into £4.00. Someone got a good deal out of me.
So it is no wonder people are down on this share, and question those who talk it up. Recent history gives a more telling story than some of the posters on this board I'm afraid :/
But maybe the past is just that, and we only need await the sunny uplands. Though the question for me remains, "will I get my £1500 back?". I think I know the answer to that one!
They haven't said the DLE plant has been commissioned - perhaps because it hasn't been yet. You'd expect them to RNS that information when they can.
Notwithstanding, the relevant comms on this suggested 6 months to do the conversion to battery grade lithium, and to offer this to the market for independent evaluation. So we have to sit tight for a while yet to get a true picture of the DLE plant performance.
Same carpy. So much potential here that I really want to put more in, but I have been so burned by AIM in the past I just wonder whether to ride it out, hopefully make the initial investments back, and more hopefully still make a small profit. 40p is such a big jump away all of a sudden :/
"I didn't chip in, but if I had..." :)
I think 24p is going to look very cheap soon enough...
"So what I'm getting at is, despite not expecting news on the OM award until Jan 2024 and FID not due until first half of 2024 as far as we are aware, it would be wrong to assume that it's a case of nothing to see here until mid 2024 at the earliest."
You've convinced me LTT :)
I seem to remember that prior to DES drilling their hole, someone posted a link showing (worldwide?) rig availability. It certainly took time to get one and get it to the Falklands, though I don't remember where it came from. Perhaps things have changed now and rigs are 10-a-penny, but as you said its unlikely.
Hi LTT,
Apologies, I can see now that actually with the award due around the FID date things look better than I believed (if it's granted in our favour, of course). I'm here to learn though, so thanks for your time.
Fortunately if finance does prove to be needed, there are options as you note. It would just be another share price kick if any were required, which is what made me worry. I did also wonder about the outstanding warrants - how many people here have taken theirs? I certainly haven't...
Thank you SpaceHoppa for responding on my behalf. I'm not always so quick off the mark here!
As you said, that the OM delay leaves us a bit short of readies. That is sub-optimal, so we will need a source of funding in 2024. A hiccup we can do without, but not insurmountable
Which helps - but still leaves us in a potentially precarious position. As ever here it's fingers crossed
I thought he said no dividends have been paid to date buzz, but he guessed they would be soon...
I don't believe I gave any other impression than I'm underwater like many here, and very much hope for the best for Rockhopper? If it is otherwise, I can only apologise.
It seems I joined the site (after lurking for ages) at an inopportune time, having now been lumped in with some alleged reprobates. Just happenstance in fact.
Good luck all.
Interesting inferred take on Navitas - not exactly a basket of roses either. Suggests they will not invest any of their current income into Sealion, but will need to raise the full amount with the markets.
"Sold today for a small profit". Wish I could do that!
Why say it was a public meeting, if it wasn't? What is the agenda with that? Very odd.
Maybe, maybe. There has certainly been a relative avalanche of trades today in comparison to the last, what, 300 sessions?!
Third to last paragraph: "And while British sovereignty over the islands is not worth contesting today..."
Good to know that is the American view.
Do you farm rockhopper penguins for their eggs, or for their meat? I'm not sure.
Either way, is it more profitable than oil extraction? These are the real questions.
I don't think we actually know that a Memorandum of Understanding is due to be out in place do we? Didn't someone on here just speculate that was the case, or that they'd heard it was happening?
Except it isn't now just Sam. Its a much bigger entity with big aspirations involved too. I'm over 50% down now (thank the lord I sold a load before it got too bad, but I'm bleeding here) and continue to hope for the best. It'll come good... Chin up all.
"My advice would be something like War and Peace taking into account the rate at which Sam and Navitas are proceeding". Ha ha, I liked that. Whatever your position hopefully we can all have a bit of a laugh - what else is there to do for LTH's?
But lets keep the faith Re: Navitas. They are surely going to produce results when compared with with preceding eons that have passed ;)
