I would have thought that good performance at Kuenkers would have been mirrored at Baldwins since they are certainly leading coin sellers. Even when SGI had issues, Baldwins still performed well in recent years
What is SG worth? I think the current valuation of just £9m is ridiculous. A look at recent acquisitions supports this: 21st September 2010: Acquisition of Benham First Day Covers for GBP 1.5m Benham's 2010 turnover being a revenue of GBP 3m and profit of GBP 410,000 21st November 2013: Acquisition of Noble Investments - gives the company a market value in excess of GBP 130m. 31st January 2014: Acquisition of Murray Payne for GBP 1m. And the ridiculous thing is that it still owns Murray Payne, Baldwins, and so on, so how can the value of the group now actually be worth so little? A lot here for Liberum to get their teeth into, but the overall company must be worth multiples of the current market cap. So, from a market cap of over GBP130m in 2013 -14 to GBP 9m now.
littlebricks - that is an excellent entry price you have there. I have averaged down significantly, and will be in the money in just over a penny's time. Make back my Debenham's losses hopefully after that! With Phoenix openly saying previously they are in this for the long haul, and the company now in turnaround mode, it's just a matter of time before Liberum go public and recommend this as a strong recovery stock. I suppose they are first waiting for the annual results to be issued at the end of the month.
Carpe, you may be right, who knows? I have recently received a letter from SG advising how they are going to overhaul their operations, tart up their shop at 399, and bring out new ranges of goods. There is the air [if nothing else] or newness and change to things, and it does look like a new beginning. I do wonder then about the oncoming announcement firstly, and secondly about the annual results? Presumably the transitional state of the company will now be made clear, and with Liberum's help, perhaps the share price will be revitalised. There's little interest in the stock at the moment, but this could speedily change once a positive announcement or two, is made, including perhaps a positive comment from Liberum?
