There is quite a gap between supply and demand, so even with a drop in demand it might outstrip supply.

This is a problem that has been 8 years in the making with underinvestment in O&G. We face a recession where it’s not necessarily true that energy prices will fall. Clearly a recession is not great for demand, but I don’t think it will be catastrophic for O&G companies this time (famous last words).

I dread to think what the share price would be if the company wasn’t buying a million shares a day. I’m pleased they are picking them up at these levels though. Let’s hope for some good news out of Aberdeen.

Got my Hargreaves Lansdowne notification this morning and took up my basic entitlement but no more given where the share price is anyway. All held in an ISA and there didn’t appear to be a problem with that.

I suspect they will buy aggressively at anything sub £4.

Once the share price starts to rise they may calm it down and take advantage of market sell offs, oil price down days and any negative operational news (if there is any).

Why is the oil price down today? Can’t see any news about it.

Weirdly if anybody intends to hold longer term it’s in their interest now for the share price to remain low so that more shares get bought & cancelled with the $200m. It’s now better value for longer term shareholders in the price remains low for the foreseeable. I hope to see another big chunk bought again at the end of the day.

I don’t mind contrarian views and criticism of the board or the company, but Godders is just a troll.

His repetition of the same subject line day in, day out, is clearly an attempt to disrupt the board.

I would therefore suggest that everyone who feels the same now reports his posts as disruptive.
