Interesting thinking Whirlaw. It always confuses me when these large holders trade a few shares here & there, especially with an illiquid stock and big spread like Longboat. Unless Blackrock are intent on selling a large portion of their holding then what was the point? The fact that there were very few shares available to buy yesterday (when they apparently crossed the threshold) & today suggests that they are not going to release many more (so far anyway).
Having said that, if Blackrock were selling in an attempt to keep the price down before for the reasons you suggest, why have they stopped now? Placing price now agreed maybe?
And why did the MMs add available shares to the market for the final 10 minutes? A sell order from another institution? More available from Blackrock? No major buys or sells during that time, but they were prepared to let 10k go.
It’s all very strange. I reckon we will either get news soon, or everything will go back to normal and we will be left wondering yet again!
Intriguing and frustrating at the same time. Let’s just get a deal over the line Helge and we can talk about that instead!
