"Perhaps it would have been preferable if Cameron had not implemented such a choice. History will record a judgement on it in the fullness of time. "
If you remember in 2014 Cameron had won the Scottish independence referendum and kept the UK together so in a run up to the 2015 general election he probably thought he would win an eu referendum. Also had he not offered a referendum the tory party would have been obliterated in the 2015 election, had that not been in their manifesto they they would not have got the majority they did.
History will judge that originally going into the eec was the wrong side of history. De Gaulle got it right when he kept veto'ing our application. We do not belong and we do not fit, its not for us!
As for that article you posted as soon as I saw it was the Guardian I felt vomit in my mouth. So just for you I read it, and its a sentiment that is being banged around. That Brexit is a hostile tory takeover and the people have been conned. Its a propaganda piece that is appearing in many places and created by some pro eu remain spin doctor like alastair campbell, who I note is rarely on our tv screens anymore because every time he does he actually makes the leave side stronger.
As for the eu their ecb bank is a disaster, like all central banks prints money out of fresh air, the German economy is a teetering and deutsche bank have just laid off more workers.
Car manufacturing is continuing its trend and moving out of the eu to Turkey.
Having flown on Turkish Airlines many times they have a free inflight magazine called Turkish Perspective, you can read it online to.

Turkey will remain an independent soveriegn nation and just watch it grow, trading into the EU as well.
As for England it needs to go to sleep for 25 years, the population of the uk needs reducing to below 50 million. Brexit will be good for us in the long term, let the ship sink a little and those who want to get off can go!
