Evening all! First chance I've had to post since this morning's RNS - good work Bergcarls, how did you know? Spot on with you circular expectation!

I would say an excellent RNS although I don't profess to understand all of it. Good info regarding the "further buyback" which will almost certainly proceed by the look of it, and good to see an update comprising their investments to date, including the purchase of CareTech shares for £13,116,740 and subsequent disposal of same for £14.8M - I make that a profit of £1,683,260. Ker-ching!

So they currently have approx. £77.8M in cash (I'm assuming that includes the £14.8M received from the CareTech sale?) and £30.3M invested, with 562M shares in issue. On that basis the NAV should be around 19.2p, I think that's right.

Looks like a bit of a ****-up on the Prior Buyback though, seems they forgot to cancel the 140M shares they bought back!

They intend to buyback up to 20% of the shares - a further 112,352,944 - and spend up to £15M in doing so. There's already a problem there - based on today's SP of 16.2p they could only buyback some 92,000,000 shares, and if the SP increases further between now and the buyback commencing - or during the buyback - then the number of shares bough back could be even less. It's a conundrum for sure.

I also suspect, like before, that once the buyback has soaked up a chunk of shares on the open market that DBay will 'fill the gap' with a big chunk of theirs at the then higher SP and make a killing. Again. Nice work DBay, what about everyone else invested here?

So, what does all this mean going forward? I have no idea, maybe someone who actually understands all this could shed some light on it please?

My feeling is that the SP will rise, both before and during the buyback, but to what? I don't think 20p is unrealistic.

My only problem with all this? I wish I had bought back in a while ago when the SP was 13.5-14p and now I have nothing available to invest even if I wanted to. I think I missed the boat here :-( however I took a side-bet for a tenner with a friend of mine today that LDG will hit 20p this year :-) so hope it does.

Seems to be a small dent in the side by the 'N' though, hope that's not a bad omen!!

From this can we assume that none of Mike Lynch's £100M sell off was 'bought back' by DT? Where did it go?

No idea about all that......

What I do know is the RNS also said they may buy back 'up to 35 million shares', so how much of the £75M they spend will also depend on how much they have to pay or are willing to pay for them.

35 million shares less than 5% of the 717 million shares in issue so not sure what difference it will really make.

For what it's worth, LDG plc (ex-Stobart/DBAY managed) did a share buy back last year and that was going along in varying chunks until LDG suddenly announced they had completed the buyback by taking a massive chunk of shares from DBay! Crafty.

Same thing could happen here - pick up 250,000 - 500,000 a day for a couple of weeks then BOOM, suddenly take 25 or 30 million from somewhere.

Not sure if any of that is any use, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'll keep up with the buyback updates if anyone's interested, thought it would be helpful, didn't intend to start any trouble.

Totals after 7 days:

1,912,482 shares - av.cost 234.0480 - total spend £4,476,125 or thereabouts.

They still have £70.5 to spend so this could take a while - slow & steady.

I expected the SP to do better after this morning's RNS, anyone know why it's struggling to get going?

DT intend to buy back £75M of shares, this is how far they've got after 6 days....

1,688,289 shares bought at a cost of £3,913,858, average price paid per share of 231.8239.

They still have over £71M to spend buying back shares, that will surely have a positive effect on the SP.

Watching and waiting....

The AGM is only a week away now, hopefully we will know a lot more by then or by the end of next week, hopefully we will have a much better idea of what is or isn't happening and where this share is going.

Until then, let's all relax and wait for the outcome or news. Anyone who honestly thinks it will be a can kicking exercise and further delays should either exit before then or hold their nerve and accept that whatever happens, this is a gamble.

My investment isn't large here but I for one will hold and hope.

@ dvh - I hope we aren't going to see further dilution here, I'm already in the red and taken a dilution hit today on MATD.

My portfolio overall is some 44% down, mostly my own fault/bad decisions to be fair, but anything less than success here would be disastrous.

I see Finsbury have acquired Lees Foods, that might explain the increase in FIF's SP and knock-on effect to LDG SP.

Haven't had time to look at the detail but undoubtedly any growth in LDG's investments good for LDG/DBay.

Hi Leedsman - good question, wouldn't they have had to RNS if they were going ahead with the buyback, or at very least update progress of the buyback like they did last time?
Interesting to see what happens here - SP last September was around 12p and the trend since seems to be generally up.
Beginning to wish I'd bought back in then, not currently invested here but watching still the same.

@ Robjm66 - good points re. TK completion/Harry's bonuses, I just hope the potential SA listing isn't TOO much of a distraction.
We all want Harry to succeed, for his sake and ours.

Abandoning the finance deal for TK at this late stage would be foolish and reckless, and send a terrible message to any potential Saudi investor - look at Kefi, what a great company, spends years taking our money to pay their wages/bonuses then gives up at the final hurdle because they were distracted by something shinier.
Why would anyone invest in a company that did that?
I can't imagine for a second that Harry would even consider such a move, especially as he has so much time invested in it.

Now my turn.... he has a point - dual listing all well and good but where is TK sign off? Shouldn't HAA and his team be focused on that? Hope not a case of Kefi running before it can walk.
