would it not be a 2 gene test....says the s gene is NOT DETECTED?

it says they use a marker test to distinguish the omicron from other variants.

i know Nova do a 2 gene test ...
a marker test is required on all positives to isolate the OMICRON variant.
IF this is Nova..."A widely used test"...it is big news.

My understanding from reading this.
All PCR test can detect this variant along with the other variants.....but only ONE test can distinguish whether its OMICRON or not?
Therefore all tests that are positive that have not used this test will be checked against the "marker " test.?
The sudden approval suggests its Novas test?
Does this make sense?
