Hmmm, glad i sold these last month....the questions is shall i by back in again or not?
I know that topps don't make much from their internet sales.....well they didnt a while ago...i mean I can't imagine many people buy tiles online...you can't really tell what they are like unless you see them in the flesh I know that most of the online sales are bathroom accessories, sinks, loo roll holders etc and they don't sell alot of them. I may be wrong but if they are claiming to sell alot online then I think someone is telling porkies. They are never going to say but i think they will be struggling for a long time still.
you sound a bit like me....i have some in tesco, BP and petra diamonds but like you a just keep an eye on different shares and wait for a dip. Although I never keep shares for long prefer to take a couple of hundred profit then buy some more that I think are low. I havent lost on any shares yet but ive only been doing this for about 2 years so theres still time. if I have to wait for them to go back up I hang in there but then I'm never sure if your best making a loss on some and investing in other shares its difficult to decide. I think my worst problem is impatience! No I dont think buying topps is going to make anyone alot of money they have had their best time a few years ago!
Well to be honest I think you will be safe I dont think topps will go under anytime soon but its definately one of those markets which gets hit hard i mean what happens when tiles go out of fashion....its bound to happen at some point they will end up in the same position as companies such as carpet world...those shops make me feel depressed when i walk past them they are so shabby and empty! I actually sold my topps shares and bought some in petra diamonds but to be honest I dont have a clue what I'm doing I just liked the sound of diamonds hehe. Anyway Tobydog how come you bought in topps in the first? place I only did because I worked for them they wouldnt be a normal choice of shares to buy for me.
yipee just sold my topps tiles shares....I'm out of here now, that £15 I made in nearly a year was well worth it I will spend it wisely....maybe on some more shares in a company that doesn't have shabby shops, terrible managment and some ethics...oh and can spell topps! hehe
its ok I am taking over from bar rat now...another annoyed ex topps employee who worked hard and got nothing in return.... honestly you dont realise how bad they treat employees at topps. anyway be glad to sell these shares eventually and invest somewhere else! anyway tiles are going out of fashion i'm going back to carpet!
