Have doubled down at 138.70, at projected earning GNC is now at a Pe of less than 10. Only with this share 4 months, now average at 172.00, I see that as achievable in the near term. I agree that the shorters have got a bit burned, they may try to take it down further, but am happy with 138.70. Now to decide what I must sell to pay for NC.

There must be some one selling large amounts at the moment. The SP continues to fall since the end of year results. Obvious displeasure IMHO with the fall in margin. I though we would be at circa 8.50 now until margin fall was announced

The Buy back also goes somewhat towards stopping the increase in shares created by those that take a script ( Shares) instead of a cash dividend.

I took out a morgage in 1982 at 14.65% interest and that was normal level at the time

With these results including the write down earlier this month make sense the future looks very bright. Lets see what the buy back does to stabalise the price over the coming months

CRH is doing OK to stand still. The quick rise after Trumps win was the expected pick up in Road, Bridge and wall building none of which happened

Before getting into investing decide are you going to be a short time trader in a stock, in one day out on small or % rises, or are you going to invest and put the share away for a period of time. If the former then hitting it right initially is very important, if the latter then hitting it right is important but not fatal as you have allowed time to recover.

I am not suspicious by nature, however if there is unexpected bad news next week I am out of this share on principle alone. This % activity, with no news, just before results is a concern

Hi Fruitbat, would agree with you, I believe BP gross profits will be better than forecast so they are using this chance to write off this debit. Going forward into 2018 without it on the books. Well hope this is the case anyway

He said if you cannot sketch on a piece of paper (ie an aeroplane for Ryanair) what the company does, do not invest in it as you do not understand the basic metrix of the company.
