RD12-you are really showing your true colours here. Liquidate at 27.9....way too low and now 20 is just ridiculous. You are deramping! The sad thing is this is way, way, way too early to be thinking about this. When I say way too early, I am talking 9 months plus away from this decision.

The oil price will go up and if you were an oil major you would try your best, wouldn't you to ensure you capitalise on this? This means cutting deeper in the short term 'where possible' to maximise revenue in the coming months. Simple economics.

RD12-the oil industry is in a shakeout phase and this will continue. Tullow, is in a fairly robust position to weather the storm with the potential to rise well beyond £1 imo.

I'll second that Laidback. I have had some recent setbacks and I for one never take any joy out of any us losing out. It's not a competition and we are all here for the same reasons-to hopefully make some money. Swings and roundabouts although hopefully in the current climate more can come out on top than under normal circumstances.

For China market insights think is is about 150 based on satellite imagery. They have immense capacity to get things done quickly as we know. I was out in China just before the 2012 Olympics and I could not believe how quickly the skyscrapers were going up (24 hours a day in preparation for the games). I am sure they will already have seen this opportunity coming and planned for more storage.

rd12-the trick, which I often get wrong, is knowing where the bottom is. Anyone reading my posts will probably get a sense that my guess is that things will improve and improve fairly rapidly. By the time lockdowns ease for example , it is in fact too late and the boat will have sailed imo. It may (or may not already be too late) especially if there is some masterplan about storage. That won't fully come from this meeting but China's capacity to store is a bit of an unknown. They, like all of us love a bargain!

rd12-if you believe in god, he may know but very few other people will know. One of my areas of interest are decision heuristics. Most here know about the confirmation bias. Another one is the anchoring heuristic that we tend to see a price point relative to the current prices. I found myself playing into this at the 10p range (did invest but never enough obviously in hindsight).

The RNS changes the fundamentals to Tullow (also the really good and sensible hedging). Allied with this, the current low prices of oil will not last, irrespective of the verdict by the markets. 25p seems cheap to me and I will continue to top up, especially in the dips over the coming months.

Apologies in advance for changing the subject from Tullow. My own investment ideas include the banking sector once this tanks (which it will over the next 6 months). Seems like a great industry to invest in when this reaches the bottom and before the inevitable rise in interest rates that will follow in 12 to 24 months time (over supply on money, inflation etc). I have been following Deutsche Bank for several years and it obviously has a lot of issues although when this falls from 6 to 4 euros I will probably buy in on scale. If anyone else would like to share sectors/industries to consider for the 'future' ie in 2 months plus time then please do chip in.

Things can change fairly rapidly. Taiwan for example announcing an increase in diesel and gasoline prices from its state run refinery over the weekend...admittedly after 6 straight weeks of decline in prices.

It always makes me laugh when people predict share prices, especially in these extraordinary times. You would have to be either a moron or desperate to sell at these low levels.

It sounds like some may have miscalculated when selling before the easter break. Way too much at play for a deal not to happen. The question is what will be the size and how the market will respond. The key players know what is at stake and will pull out all the stops to max the cut as far as possible.

The deal has to happen. If not, it will trigger a recession the likes of which have not been seen before. FTSE will in a short space of time plummet well below the global financial crisis levels. A lot more at stake here than just the price of oil.
