As it says Openreach has opened its network years ago but others don’t want to pay for it. They just want to cherry pick the most profitable areas.
Ofcom have ruined BT and the country. When I started with BT in the 70's it was well known that they never made a profit in wales but were forced to install lines to remote farm houses for example. It didn’t matter because they made profits elsewhere to offset this loss. Queue ofcom and it’s 'let’s share the profits' formula. It doesn’t work!
The only saving grace is no matter who provides the line BT gets a cut.
Velo, as I’ve said lower the better . Something has to give and maybe a low SP will force a buyout.
'Oversold' ? How is that measures officially. To me a scrap value of four times it’s current buy price has to be a bargain for some billionaires
Bank holiday means more grief waiting until Tuesday ro see how this is going.
I’m lucky enough to have already recouped my initial cost of buying in with dividends and I’ve still tripled my money on top of that. Don’t need to sell but don’t want the divi dropped either. Despite this my portfolio looks terrible as I did some swapping int isa's at £4.70 so showing a huge paper loss. Ex BT and in the same position as all the guys I know who still hold.
Feeling in the company is upbeat on the future seeing orders and rollout of an product that’s priority one to everyone who is old enough to operate a phone. In my case that’s my two year old grandson. So a completely captive client base off tens of millions in a growing and prosperous market...no worries like som companies that hold go bust.
Only sentiment and ofcom holding this profit giant down and if this goes much lower , maybe £150, a buyout or radical turnaround by ofcom will happen.
Hold tight guys if BT goes down then that will be the last of our worries
Meant to add before you call me a snowflake , that I am as right wing as they come.
But I know a bad deal when I see it (Bt excluded...lol) and admit my reason to remain is financial prosperity for the U.K.
We cannot survive on rhetoric and past glories. We drive German cars for Christ’s sake. The EU ain’t perfect that’s why we have our veto and concessions. I hope we don’t end up begging to go back in and lose them all when this all goes tits up.
It’s bad enough torturing myself coming here to discuss the poor SP, yes in part caused by Brexshit, without reading your radicalised diatribe.
Brexit is bad for the U.K. and all who live in it.
Referendum was Manipulated by liars and con artists. If binding it would have been voided so give up trying to say it was democratic and we need to obey it. It wasn’t and never will be unless there’s another one that is properly policed.
No deal WTO only exists because Brexit as promised, cannot be delivered. God knows May tried.
The EU aren’t the enemy and responsible for everything wrong in this country.
No way the referendum would have gone as it did not for Boris and his £350m lies.
I could go on but have never seen a Brexiter win an argument yet when it comes down to truths not lies
Time to put it to bed admit defeat .
Ps I’d quite happily support a Brexit as promised with money saved for the NHS, immigration only when necessary, financial success for us all and booming business.
Instead we’ve wasted circa £88bn, lost jobs and cost us all dearly financially. This is the reality and no I don’t want to go back to war times and spitfires like gammons would have us do, then die off and leave their loved ones to suffer. Best to hope for is maybe we’ll recover in 30 plus years from this suicide a minority of the public and elitists want.
Shame on them all!
Rxdav complete bollocks why lie?
ALL polls show you are in the minority. Plus the EU elections like the referendum, is not completely about leaving the EU. It’s more about disenfranchisement and local politics
Bertram...'The governor of the B of E "it will be a disaster, the pound will collapse companies falter, investment leave,'
Thanks for pointing out the truth behind Remainers comments!
All you say HAS happened!
Err the steelworkers are in the proverbial BECAUSE of Brexshit...lol same as a lot of other British companies , BT being one of them.
No I don’t think May and Corbyn are saints at all , like Fartage, should be called out and cut off when they refuse to answer pertinent questions.
I’m not a EU lover just anti Brexshit.
Of course fartage will storm the elections, but most will vote as a finger to the establishment not leaving the EU .
Blue passports and the good old war as reasons ? Very disturbing comments. You an angry Gammon?
Rxdav I can’t let that one go ..
Farage intelligent..lol had one over on Marr...lol
Rubbish absolute tosh. Marr made him look an idiot crybaby. Wouldn’t answer anything and tried to play the victim..pathetic..didn’t answer because he’s a dishonest lying creep and his past proves it.
.and as for intelligent? The jury’s out because he’s managed to con people like you
As I’ve said before..lol
Bt finds unlimited supply of gold under its exchanges! Share price plummets in response.
Actually they can blame Brexit . Millions lost since day after referendum with hundreds of job losses
Broken now!
Given up caring and hope now it attracts a buyout as it sinks lower and then will jump up again.
Absolutely stupid SP for the company providing the whole country with a necessity service.
Screw ofcom and their competition rules. It doesn’t work, just cripples the only company trying to invest
Probably dive below now I’ve mentioned it...:-)
Deutsche Bank have called it right since £5. Or did DB's forecast cause the decline?....lol
I’m waiting for them to change their current position of Hold they’ve held for awhile. Theory is they’ll move to Buy when Deutsche Telecom submit their buyout:-))
Fleccy . Best I’ve read and sums up my thoughts exactly.
Fed up and thinking, bollocks, lets go back into the 100's.
At least something would happen at last, it’s getting like Brexit.
Buyout or bankrupt as Avy said, let’s get on with it!
Cometh DT?
Is this the final push down before takeover bids?
£2.6bn profits is hard to refuse in a guaranteed growing market which even the competition relies on!
Regardless of what ofcom have failed to do BT still has a monopoly of sorts. Take it away and the whole market disappears overnight.
What’s your reasoning Avy?
Divi cut off 8th Aug?
Well that’s 201 broken
Crazy low price. Come on DT you know you want it
You having a laugh?
Bankrupt?
Don’t forget the importance and profits to be made in telecoms.
