Indeed, the whole housebuilding sector gives capitalism a bad name, we all need houses to live in so let's nationalise the industry !

19% margin, isn't that a bit unethical when people are struggling to afford a house. Especially when directors get bonuses of over £100m! This will be an easy target if labour win the next election, a special housing tax with the proceeds used to build affordable housing.

What does this signify ?

DC, based on your comments I assume that you will sell any long term holding and then make profits by day trading.

Good luck, I am sure that TW will recover at some point in the future, however they may well fall further before they recover and that recovery might not get back to the £2 level. The current trend is down, I may buy when the trend changes but that could be a while.
It is often wise to sell at a loss, better to lose 10% than lose 50%.
Buffett obviously knows what he's doing but I suspect he doesn't have TW shares !

So your logic says that continuously falling share prices is good?
If you spread your purchases over the next 5 years and the stock market falls you will be worse off.
If the stock market rises you will be better off.
Or am I missing something?

BAMPS, I think you are misguided to believe that any comment on these bulletin boards have any impact on the share price, I find them more entertaining than informative.
I welcome negative comments as well as positive.

Tom, you state that DC's comments are tiring, to be fair he is expressing his disappointment at the continuous fall in the TW share price. What I find more tiring is your comment about the share being worth more than it is without any logic to back this up.

If you really believe that 150 will be reached in the Autumn then you should really sell BT and TW and buy PMO. I very much doubt those 2 will increase 25% in that time, they will probably continue to decline. Also when the dividend is paid the share price will probably fall by the same amount so it makes no real difference. Holding on to falling shares hoping they will recover is a very poor strategy, I used to do the same but have learnt my lesson.

I agree with the comments about paper losses, to believe you have not lost money because you haven't sold the shares is a foolish view. It persuades you to hold on to your shares in the hope that they will recover rather than cut your losses. I myself have made this mistake in the past. I think to accept that you have made a wrong decision and sell the shares and move on is a good skill that many on these forums do not have.

TW remains in the bottom 5% of my list of shares, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. They have fallen 6 months out of the last 7. Shares that continually fall in value do so for a reason and very rarely offer good top up opportunities.

Not being a believer in shorting shares I do find JB etc. comments a bit irritating but I have to admit he has been generally right and I would have made more money following his advice than others on this board. I hope one of his shorts will backfire one of these days but I am not hopeful. I'll give it another month or two then I'll be out of this dog of a share.

I do not decide what price RYA charges, whether they charge £20 or £200 is irrelevant. Also I do not make the compensation rules that the airlines have to abide by. Correct me if I am wrong, but these strikes are due to the action of RYA cabin crew who are unhappy with their T&Cs so the problem lies 100% with RYA, nobody else.
I agree that where there are delays to weather etc. then the airline should not have to pay compensation. But in this instance RYA only have themselves to blame for having very poor industrial relations.

Hope the treatment is a success. Had 6 months of chemo myself last summer and came out the other side. NHS was fantastic. I think having the right mind-set is key and it sounds like you tick all the boxes on that score.

I flew with them last Friday for a short break in Belgium, flight delayed 5 hours, after much hassle was offered a £3 voucher for food and drink. Staff were hopeless in terms of information and rude with it. Only good thing was that we would receive good compensation. However I am now informed that they will not pay-out because they claim the strike was totally beyond the airline's control. Unbelievable. Terrible company, I for one will not fly with them again or ever invest in them. They may well make good profits but they are a horrible company run by a horrible man. They need to be careful, remember the demise of Ratner's after his treatment of customers.

H-hi, much prefer to watch BBC than the dross shown on ITV. Also do not have to put up with the irritating adverts (the one for the postcode lottery is particularly annoying).

I think it was Paul Samuelson who quipped "the stock market has predicted 9 of the last 5 recessions". With all due respect Seer, you have no more idea than anybody else as to when the next recession will be. You were probably just lucky in 2008.

Over the last 9 months BDEV is down 25% compared to TW 14%.
