Cheers Danger_Man.
The point I was making is that Latics is never prepared to offer, or consider any other explanation than that RKH is a shambles, managed by fraudsters.
Other possible explanations, as suggested by Stillneedoil are quite plausible, especially as there is ample evidence that things ARE going on behind the scenes with the operator, Navitas.
As for HMG approval for SL, I wouldn't give that another thought.
I believe there are expectations that Claire Coutinho will be an improvement over Grant Shapps, following his departure as Energy Secretary.
I would agree that HMG is unlikely to champion SL publicly and still less provide funding for it (e.g. UKEF, which is already a dead duck for SL).
However, as as been stated here many times, the UK energy security boffins have got their sums badly wrong, which was made abundantly clear when Putin invaded Ukraine.
With an election approaching, the Conservatives have to be seen to be making all the right environmental noises, while, at the same time, ensuring the lights stay on at an affordable price for the likes of us and for businesses.
Even the Green fanatics accept that the UK' renewable infrastructure is hopelessly inadequate to achieve Net Zero by 2050, and that fossil fuels will have to take much of the strain as we switch over. And that isn't going to be helped by the very obvious shortage of money across every part of the UK economy.
Jeremy Hunt reminded us this morning that the only way that everything is going to be paid for (including collapsing concrete public building), is by expanding the economy. How's he going to do that without some significant fossil fuel consumption?
So, as I said, don't give it another thought.
