What’s more likely to ‘change all that’ is a significant announcement from Navitas about something important, such as a new JV partner, more detailed plans about getting to SL 1st oil, appraising other oil assets, etc., but we already know Navitas only makes such announcements when they’re ready, but we also know that such announcements are made when they actually mean something, unlike many, as PMO did.

With all the noise you have made, I thought you had a big investment in RKH.

I would expect that too.

I would also expect any new entrant to this region to be very capable. Navitas now has a reputation to protect and any newcomer will be joining on the strength of that reputation.

So yes, if the RKH sp doesn’t move upwards, I’d be amazed.

Good posts with good points. I would add that we have suddenly been plunged into a very unusual and unstable situation. We know the demand for hydrocarbons will eventually ease, particularly if just to be burned for human comfort, but right now it’s in very high demand, and much of it stuck around the Strait of Hormuz.

We also don’t know how supply resumption will be, even if Trump’s adventure ends today - ‘normal’ supplies won’t resume for some time.

As well as the immediate impacts of this on everyone, many will be reviewing their energy consumption and requirements and how to make them more resilient and with fewer risks.

Big energy companies like Shell and BP, etc. will be looking again at their strategies/ forecasts and may modify in the light of what’s happening now.

I would caution against using ‘conventional’ wisdom as the basis for predicting /guessing what’s going to happen in the FI new oil/gas region.

Returning to what might happen with RKH, we’re back to guessing how many sweeties there are in that jar, except this time, it isn’t a clear glass jar, but an opaque tin.

As I have posted before, there’s management style that milks the organisation, while oblivious to the possibility that crises might arise and upset the fun. Management that’s out of its depth and doesn’t know how to deal with issues, let alone anticipate and plan for them, while making promises that aren’t achieved. Mediocre management that lacks imagination and bumbles along with mediocre results, etc.

And then there are companies like Navitas, whose management demonstrates drive, imagination and attention to detail, setting objectives that are achievable and met. Their culture demands the right team with the knowledge and experience to anticipate and plan for every possible eventuality and obstacle to meet their stated and achievable objectives.

For Navitas, all the ‘problems’, mentioned here, including the FPSO issues, are just their daily bread, which we shouldn’t forget.

I think some posters here believe PMO is still the operator.

The main point I think, is we’re (RKH) sitting on some very attractive assets.

Not so long ago, JPM were reporting that the price of oil could drop to around $30 just when SL was scheduled to be coming into production.

Now it looks as though that prediction was about as wrong as they could get, with RKH assets being exceptionally valuable in an exceptionally good location.

I think we’re getting ahead of ourselves here, particularly with the extraordinary goings-on in the Middle East. The main takeaway for us should be the extreme importance of our energy supplies, which too many have taken for granted. All of a sudden going up in smoke before our eyes.

We KNOW that RKH is sitting on some pretty tasty licences in an area that looks like it could become a new oil/gas region, with an exceptionally benign jurisdiction (FIG), and safely away from the ME.

I think we should wait and see how things develop in the immediate future before wasting energy on guessing what’s going to happen beyond that, which would be worse than guessing how many sweets are in the jar at the school fête.

There’s probably a bit of confusion here.

In the 1960s, FIG probably didn’t have the authority to issue licenses, so contact at government level would probably have been with HMG.

However, I have it on very good authority that Shell, BP and others were already interested in the South Atlantic in the 1960s.

I’m less interested in the specifics and more interested in the fact that both Shell & BP (and others) have been keeping an eye on the South Atlantic from well before the Falklands War in 1982.

That may explain the lack of info pre-Falklands War, as the British justification for that was solely about sovereignty and the rights of the Falkland Islanders.

Mirasol, Shell applied to FIG for licences in the 1960s.

That followed some investigations for them to reach the conclusion they wanted carry out formal exploration activities.

Under one of your aliases you asked us to believe you’d attended a Navitas public meeting in Stanley, but you couldn’t quite remember who had presented at the meeting.

Some here have been speculating about BP joining the party, which others have dismissed.

However, BP joined Shell and others in applying to FIG for exploration licences in the 1960s.

They also announced their change in corporate strategy away from renewables (which haven’t proved as profitable as hoped), to concentrate on hydrocarbons.

What seems absolutely certain now, is that Navitas are considering candidates to join them in the new FI oil/gas region.

Shell have been poking around the FI from the 1960s, so are probably the most experienced regarding the region as a whole

I’d add that EVERYONE connected with the SL project will want to see it in production ASAP.

As I already posted, which was before the latest Iranian retaliatory strikes, at the rate they’re smashing up their oil & gas processing and storage infrastructure, we are unlikely to see the PoO fall to $70 for quite some time.

I see this getting worse before it eventually reaches some sort of conclusion.
