The Chancellor visited the ITM Power plant in Sheffield on Friday to announce a £4.5 Billion investment package for Manufacturing businesses. (Could have picked any plant) It was all over the BBC news and Newsnight on Friday evening and most press are now carrying the story

It includes near £1 Billion (£960 Million) for Green Energy manufacturers.

Labour / Kier Starmer in the same Faisal Islam interview gave an equally strong commitment yesterday to the green energy sector so it doesn't matter who gets in at the next election, and the exposure and raising of ITM Powers profile certainly won't be doing ITM Power any harm moving forward.

Jeremy Hunt could have picked anywhere to make the announcement but he didn't he chose ITM and is singing their praises in his twitter / x post.

This is addressing and turning on the head the shortcomings that Schulz highlighted in his recent letter to the Times (and which may have been a contributor to recent falls)

The question to be asking is this. Will ITM be better off as a result of the news? and in answer a decent slice of a near £1 Billion pot of money being made available specifically for ITM's sector - that wasn't there until yesterday - is a step in the right direction and will fit in nicely with the ITM Power balance sheet and any short to mid-term plans that the company presently has.

Time for a bit of Xmas shopping and catch you all next week.

What was good in the BBC news footage was that it also interspersed Kier Starmer visiting another green energy plant elsewhere in the country and with him also pledging support to the green energy sector.

So its a win win scenario however any election turns out and there is now the availability of a near £1 Billion big pool of support money to help grow the industry and visible Government backing onside again. That should feed in nicely to our current balance sheet cash pile.

There will clearly have been conversations behind the scenes on both prior and yesterday itself between Schulz and Hunt so I'm intrigued to see how ITM now push the growth button.

Good news.

Some real good exposure for ITM Power with the BBC's Business Correspondent interviewing the Chancellor in the ITM emblazoned Blue vests and highlighting the factory and the machinery as well as assistance being made available. Should newsreel again on the 10 o'clock BBC news and on Newsnight.

Worth reading this CEO's Linkedin profile and probably starting with his "Pond Scum" and overfishing posts and his last one last night which prompted this article. He probably encapsulates all that is wrong with UK markets and is probably not too far off the truth for what is happening here to be fair. Imvho. Hotel Chocolat got taken over yesterday by Mars at what was a circa 260% premium to its recent lows and another UK company that shifts into US ownership.

This article follows on from a Linkedin post by THG's CEO Matt Moulding last night. Certainly hasn't done the share price of what is our largest holding THG any harm today.

+ 6.27% and thats KLSO well into profit again as they head towards Black Friday - Cyber Monday and all the Festive Trading that follows, and this year without postal disputes as well.

Molokai I also forgot to mention amidst all my LF and CB purchases and MP purchases earlier that I actually also managed to pick up a right bargain of an ESPA Positivity Gift set at Argos. It was your ESPA mention that reminded me. £65 and £75 elsewhere but I got it for £35 at Argos and it's now back up to £75 so well anyone else if you also bagged it ir any of the other ESPA offers on reduction.

When you drop the share price down to silly levels in an effort to try and fleece retail PI's and to generate volume and of course spread income then there comes a point where it becomes futile and the volumes dry up. Especially if people can see a rather large amount of cash sat on the balance sheet. That is probably where we are sat presently. pitiful volume today.

Now I'm more than happy to be a patient and value investor and am happy to pick up further stock at any lower prices still and to wait ad infinitum for a decent return. That's in the full knowledge of the balance sheet strength and also that the world is now a couple of years past "Peak Oil" and oil reserves are finite and diminishing and in world of global warming where renewables energy will ultimately win the day.

So here we sit, for an eternity if we like. I'm not in any rush or hurry. But then I don't have to generate weekly, monthly and annual monies as I don't have any staff or office costs to manage and in the meantime there is always the chance of predatory activity at these levels and of course any premium that gets attached.

Definitely being manipulated for gain. Good rising markets on the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 and PFC is presently down.

40p wow!! - against a share that was mid 80's only a few weeks ago when Forbes upgraded its outlook on PFC. Admittedly yes there is an Israel Gaza conflict but PFC don't operate in either country and all contracts have legal binding to them.

So whose pockets are the MM's trying to line this time around?

Indeed is bubbleshoot. The Sky News number of £1 Billion for the sale of only HMSO's Value retail against a market cap for the full group of only £1.3 Billion. So only £0.3 Billion for all the other property interests and the land bank and going concern of the business.

It's not just for the likes of you and I that are patiently waiting but for the holders of the bulk of some 150 Million shares and the extraordinary volume that has been transacted in roughly 3 days all strangely within a very tight range of roughly 27p to 28p.

And did I forget to mention the proliferation of spread betting companies also on top ....

Interestingly I normally read market commentary in the morning prior to markets opening and it is they "the spreadbetting companies" that actually get quoted every morning as being the ones calling the initial market opening direction for the day on the LSE. Anyone reading similar will be familiar with phrases lile "Spreadbetting companies see the Uk markets opening up 30 points or for instance "opening lower"

ironically, we are essentially letting financial bookmakers (with a vested interest in margin calls and seeing their clients lose money) call the direction of the market on opening.

Time to shut up and get back to some more Xmas shopping.
