The rate of change of the cover will lead to the feedback loop . So lets hope we see a Santa Rally and risk on , today was a good start but we need those faster moving averages to push so momentum extends to 20 day moving averages etc . and upwards.

Am agnostic as to whether i go short or long but feel that if I were short or closed out a long ( 2 different things obviously ) I'd be close to cashing in as my closing ( if long form lower would have been at 400 ) as my short would have started at 400 too. So seeing profits diminish (should that happen) I'd close soon , tomorrow could be an interesting day if RISK ON and gas and oil looking pretty good to continue a move up. ( For Gas I look at GFS/UKMO/ECM (weather models) for a trend and if that cold blast arrives those prices will continue to be super high

plebeens agree , market makers hedging the rate of change of the delta you refer to as gamma will turn quick if the price spikes. The classic feedback loop . Though what do they use in the UK for the likes of HBR ?

That will be staggering if HBR price does not rally big time tomorrow

I suspect the rally is anticipating demand related to cold weather in the forecast for Europe and UK

I would have to agree. Whilst on pure TA it has a bit to recover to 'repair' the chart ( we have to break out of the long channel with the breakout at around 440-445) . It's undeniable that with gas flying as it is today ( plus 18% as I type which is insane) we will start to see the faster signalling moving averages ( say sub 10MAs ) turn up and start some momentum at least.

Our energy mix is roughly 50-50% for now and growing in favour of gas . Am surprised that fundamental investors are not pointing this out more.

As can be seen on page 34. Gas is around 50% of overall production and rising above by 2024 . The focus on BRent prices alone is wrong .

If Omnicron has a short yet sharp impact then those who have the speed to get on to the what I suspect will be a rally will reap great rewards , quickly too . You can sense that people have had enough and want to get on with life.
Anyways for now as we are producing lots of gas too the weather and politics is on our side

Seems crazy to me that record gas prices and big T coming into action (the sooner the better) have no impact on the share price. Am hoping we get tolmount early in the quarter

For all the doom and gloom out there I think some are not looking at the data . Gas is up another 5% at 365p !! Its super high

Go look at the composition of HBR's production Its practically 50-50 oil and gas .
Focusing only on oil is incorrect .

I don't get the doom for HBR not with these prices This is herd mentality at its best , doom become entrenched .

This is certainly good news for HBR bulls where 90% of production comes from the Uk of which gas vs oil is around 50/50

Well its an interesting debate time will tell. About 15% lost in market cap in 2 days because

1) We are going to get a dividend of 16p ?
2) Tolmount reserves anticipated to be downgraded reflecting drilling results ? DId they really warrant such a drop on the overall market ? We need to Quantify downgrade as the market has . If so does the entire portfolio also get revalued up due to higher underlying commodity prices, Gas and OIl ?

I didn't add the 630 from 490 upgrade from Stifel 2 days ago.

Am honestly surprised , and possibly as a result of retail here as volume is not that big at all for a drop this size. Usually big percentage moves if solid come with big volumes .

2) production
3) cash flow
4) Q1 new additional gas from Tolmount

jokes aside this virus paranoia related to Brent prices isn't reflected in gas prices . Don't believe me check today's prices up over 5% . The other day I read someone post we are 50 - 50 . oil vs gas. or will be . Yet if Gas goes up 5% and Brent goes down 2% share price drops over 5% ??????? . Either retail is ignorant or its paranoia is at very high levels . My money is on both

The virus crash is clearly the reason for Friday's dip but structurally if the US sells its strategic reserves they seriously have issues of supply . Other than that HBR should easily be happy with Brent in the $70s .

Think Black Friday was the bargain to be had and today's price action is confirming it.
445p remains short term target . 650 next , am targeting more like 1250 but one step at the time

All in my view .

This new variant may not be as powerful as previous variants and boosters etc will be rapidly helping . Uptake is now quite significant. Not had mine yet as still relatively young but am surely due it soon.
Moderna announced some positive news on the new vaccine too.
