can we drop this referendum thread? I know there isn't much to talk about on FRR now and we all have strong views on Brexit (second vote please!) but we see it all the time elsewhere in the news and to have the depressing argument spilling over on to here is unwarranted ... this place should be reserved for depression relating solely to the current sp.

I thought with it being in hottrader's post that it wouldn't be picked up on as lots must have him filtered and the rest wouldn't read it ... but I was wrong.
Also there is some self indicting logic in the last sentence ;)!

Kipperman: I do recall a dramatic movement in the sp sometime between Christmas and New Year probably around 7 to 8 years ago, so it is possible.
The timing of an RNS should be dictated by news falling and so, in theory, should be equally likely at any time, including half trading days such as 24th and 31st. (Although I guess if Exxon has closed down for the period then that may be an RNS stopper ;).)

I know it is small beer in the general scheme of things but every day these days it seems to be the routine that there are sells first thing so that we are down within a few minutes. We start every day on the back foot...

Ivy: I wouldn't have been surprised to see an update this morning... and I certainly have no desire to drive the price down; quite the opposite!
The last RNS on the matter stated there was a hearing on the 18th and the market would be kept up to date. It could have been that Hope filed a defence and a new hearing has been set for whenever. An RNS to state that doesn't require much lawyer and Nomad time! So imo there could quite easily have been an RNS this morning depending on what had happened and I also believe that the Company is obligated to tell us, as co-owners of the business, what happened as soon as it is able. And hopefully that is what they are drafting now.

The 22 November RNS included the following:

"The Grand Court has ordered that Mr Hope and OMF should file their defense to the Company's Statement of Claim by 18 December 2018. The Grand Court also gave directions in relation to the application by Mr Hope and OMF to discharge the previously granted injunction; a hearing to deal with that application is expected to take place in December.
The Company intends to continue to vigorously assert its rights in the Action and will provide further updates as they become available."

Presumably therefore we should get an update tomorrow (or possibly earlier) to state whether a defence was filed at the very least?

Puddy: most likely time to settle is at the last minute imo ..

BigDave: if this deal is as big as we hope it will take a long while together as there are many interested parties to all sign it and some of them (Government department) have only been in place a short while. Imo the longer it takes to pull together the more likely it is to ultimately happen. Ducks are gradually been lined up, one if which is probably getting Hope out of the way, so a bit longer yet to wait methinks ...

In my case it is more akin to frustration rather than anger, as in my opinion, Zaza has continued to progress making the right decisions. The spat with Hope was initially instigated by Hope. To be sat here with one major signed to an MOU, one major still under an NDA, the lights still on and a term sheet document also signed is pretty good. The frustration really relates to the current sp, which to a large degree, is beyond Zaza's control. Otherwise patience is the order of the day; I remain confident that once this court action is done, the good news should start to flow.

Bomber: You are right. This individual is peddling lies and misinformation purely for personal gain. We all take and (hopefully) understand the risks of investing in the AIM. What he is doing is trying to prey on those of us who can be influenced by misinformation. If he, and his cronies, succeed, then ultimately they deprive not only investors/gamblers like ourselves of our hard earned but also men of jobs and, in so doing, can have a terrible effect on families. How such low life can sleep at night is beyond me. And does our regulator do anything about it: No, not a jot. On such evidence the FCA are a waste of space and our money.

Not sure we want any more news on concrete ... ;)!
