Surely the purpose of having a board and being appointed to it is to attempt to see through the deluded projections of personalities like MM in order to share your knowledge and experience to prevent their behaviours taking down the company and shareholders with it. In contrast to Rock8's dross I felt the question was answered very well, the situation explained and nothing but praise for the management team.

@Amers, yes you are able to sell your shares in a private company, it's just a different process. I feel from what we have heard regards the commitment of the ingenuity backers it shouldn't be too difficult to sell themit that's just my opinion.

The steps for selling shares in a private company.

Obtain approval from the issuing company.

Determine the value of your shares.

Find a buyer, either directly or through a broker.

Negotiate and agree on a price.

Complete the sale with a legal contract.

Canary, to partly answer your question, Matt did explain that if the majority choose to remain with THG the current backers of Ingenuity would be happy to pick up any excess in Ingenuity in exchange for their THG shares. I think he said the 49p price point was established as a price the ingenuity backers would be happy to do so.
