Surprised the market has seized upon the implications of the initiative for Alba's share price.

Can see it surging upwards at some stage.

From yesterday morning's video, from 03:19:

"There is significant bandwidth and scope for us to get Greenland Listco's market cap well up into the 10s of £millions and that is the objective for the new Listco".

Those 10s of £millions are almost entirely absent from Alba's share price at the present.

Conclusion: management is very conscious of the pressure that has been put on the share price by successive placings.

No placing since that of £2.2m on 02/10/20, 7 months and 19 days ago.

Something has changed, we can see from cyan2's list of placings that this constitutes an unprecedently long gap since the last one.

Before anyone asks, no, I'm not joining the baying mob ...

Just about all the elements are in place, it is now for the market to break out of its state of somnolence.

That may happen because of a specific trigger or it may happen simply because of an increasing number of investors becoming aware of the potential.

All depends on the basis of valuation and the extent to which future prospects are taken into account.

Put CynderLad on filter a while back so, no, haven't seen any post from him recently.

From about 9:46, re the value play, the investor can say:
"I genuinely believe I've got at least 16 (ie. £16m), at least twice the value and then some, and that's before we look at the other things we're doing and hope to do".

Think we can all see in which direction the share price will be heading, it's just a matter of time.

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

The precise figure will depend upon the valuation of Greenland Listco and the percentage stake retained by Alba, but Alba is heading for a significant injection of cash.

This cash is likely to be employed in an acceleration of the programme in Wales.

I expect they have tried to test the waters before yesterday's announcement.

Suspect a pure Greenland play may attract quite a lot of interest.

It's an obvious point but they will have undertaken quite a bit of work (and, probably, a lot!) before putting out this morning's RNS.

Some quotes:
"very good chance/prospects for a significant valuation uplift on our Greenland assets";
"that's going to be Alba's focus, the management team's focus, of getting Clogau into production";
"we think it (the spin-off) is going to add a huge amount of value to the group and to the value of Alba".
