It shouldn't be forgotten that Angus only bought its 25%-stake in Balcombe and became the operator after the protests against the previous operator, Cuadrilla.

Suspect the planning committee councillors wouldn't like anybody as the operator at Balcombe - the Council itself isn't the problem.

It's true that a lot of my posts were in response to those of Penguins, so I'm hoping the number of my own posts will now decline.

It's not a question of anybody "beating" anybody else, we're not in the children's playground any more.

It's a question of UKOG's future prospects and of the share price, at least for me.

But we are going round in circles, you are referring to the SP, I post mostly about operational things, rarely about the SP which (I repeat) can move differently to how things are really going.

You were negative on UKOG in mid-2017 before it rose to 11p.

Obviously, if you are always negative on UKOG, then you will always be proven wrong when the share price rises.

On this occasion, it rose to 11p and only descended to 0.80p in early 2020.

The point I am making, Penguins, is that the time to sell was NOT before it was "hyped", but you were negative on UKOG at 0.80p in mid-2017 before it rose to 11p.

It's all very well having got things right between early 2020 and now but you were wrong between mid-2017 and early 2020. And for the future, as ever, we shall see.

The posts on this board are essentially ephemera.

They are only stored because the technology offers that facility. On a more rational basis, they would all be deleted after, say, 1 month.

... but eventually the outcome is what counts - which is what I comment on.

Penguins, in the long term we are all dead.

Anybody foolhardy enough to have gone short (or equivalent) at 0.80p in mid-2017 would have been wiped out by the rise to 11p and no longer have been in a position to benefit from the "eventual outcome" (which is constantly susceptible to revision).

In the stock market, timing counts for a lot.

The open offer seems to have brought out comments from a number of posters who have not been following developments at UKOG at all closely in the recent, or even more distant, past.

Even if the open offer offered the opportunity to double one's money, the take-up wouldn't be 100%, because of inertia, etc.

On the other hand, if there is no money to be made, there will still be some who take it up.

Nobody can tell in advance what the % take-up will be.

The placing raised the £5m they were looking for.

The open offer is something that was imposed upon them by shareholder rights PIs, who failed to support resolution 6 at the AGM.
