Did you know...
- Back in November 2017, some flakes and nuggets of gold, extracted from the Clogau St David's Gold Mine between 1979 and 1981, were put up for public auction (see the BBC report from the time, linked below).
- The smallest nugget, weighing 3g (0.1oz), reportedly sold for £4,000.
- The 16.26g (0.5oz) of gold flakes and dust reportedly sold for £10,500.
- At the time the gold price was around £965 per ounce.
- The gold price today stands at more than £2,400 per ounce...
