Why appoint a new auditor? It's the kind of thing which happens if:

one wants to take a fresh look at the books &/or kitchen sink the accounts (but this normally means new management);

a potential buyer of the company seeks comfort before proceeding further (but there is no suggestion at all of a potential buyer lurking in the shadows).

And why do it well after the end of the financial year in question?

Where do you propose to find 30% of the stock?

There are no significant shareholders. Even on the most active of recent trading days, it was about 5% of stock which changed hands, so the shares are in sticky hands.

To find 30% of stock, the share price would have to be driven much higher.
