I have a reasonable idea on the bigger hitters.. I think it's important to try and understand what each posters positions are likely to be so I can better understand why they say what they say. Not filtering most of the opinions I don't agree with helps me achieve that..

you were the one moaning about the handouts and all of the money being spent/wasted. The govt have made a complete horlicks of this and can't now see a sensible way out. We don't want the NHS to stop functioning, we don't want people to die un-necessarily - so what's the plan - do you know ?????? Are we doing the testing, do we have apps, do we have the equipment we were told we needed years ago - and again when it first hit the headlines..?? No we Don't..

it makes very little difference to insurance..
and if you're not at home how do you get your stuff from the bank
I'm not convinced that the boxes are a big enough earner to justify a model that is considered dead by everyone else - we can have different views it's allowed
no director buys and I don't hear many of the big holders on here talking about topping up, the people with the knowledge aren't buying, and the guys and girls with the shares aren't adding - you have to ask yourself why ?

Anyway we'll have a better idea next week so no point arguing the toss..

nomlongu, I don’t advise on shares but if I did I would suggest you steer well clear of banking shares and bulletin boards where they’re being discussed. I think the sector is oversold and will recover dramatically once the country has a plan to turn the dial back up. If you don’t think that then your perceived knowledge is effectively futile.

Morning bigsmoke, just to be clear I want the metro share price to recover. I’m not as heavily invested as most on this board but I’m pee’d off that I’ve traded these several times over the last year or so and am still a long way behind break even.
If you were involved in a business especially at the sharp end effectively running it, wouldn’t you buy shares after a market correction if you thought they were a license to print money ? If you thought it would also send a positive message to staff and shareholders alike surely it would be a no brainier ?
The lack of a clear message from the BOD who are also seemingly unable to get on the front foot at all since the last fundraise, coupled with a reluctance to buy any shares from that point on has to be a worry ?

Trade wars will start up again, the US and others will want compensation for Covid -19. Italy and a few other bankrupts will want out of the EU, Brexit negotiations.

Oh and World debt to GDP now 270% - it was only a mere 210% when it was a problem in 08.

No longer as bullish, it's got a bit Trumpy again..

and no likely big fines, no PPI, and share prices at much more distressed levels than last time.

the only thing stopping me betting the farm on 5 or 6 of them is that it flies in the face of sensible investment modelling..

agree with what you say on the banks Theo, it will be one of the last sectors to properly recover - but once it properly turns thats where I see some of the biggest % gains on the main indices.

I think someone complained that we were celebrating some more success on other shares that had gone up 60% in a few days.
