Troajan,
It is not an unreasonable decision, but it does not excuse the many unreasonable decisions this GOV has made.
The amount of money that was wasted on PPE and Test and Trace was inexcusable. And now they excuse not being prepared to help kids out of poverty on there being no money left.
Remember, there is a record tax burden on the middle class. But there have not been tax increases on unearned income. GOV has starved HMRC of funding, so there are less tax inspections and more tax not collected from the rich. Conscious decisions by those who rule over us.
A different GOV would have invested in GRID storage research and allowed onshore wind and improved the GRID. Instead, it takes years to get a GRID connection if you want to develop a wind or solar farm. But if you are the PM and need the local GRID improved, so you can heat your pool they can fix that; hell, he can even have energy with a price cap subsidised with workers taxes.
