It would be useful to know a date, 50-50 whether I can be arsed to take the day off work but it would be interesting.

Otherwise, I assume it's another day of grim equity iceberg overhang. On the positive side, we are now perhaps 5 weeks from completing the P1/2 trial on 201.....I assume the 16mg dosing has started and results will be informally known by mid-June.

Here's hoping to a sentiment rally in 3-5 weeks! (if 401 trial conclusion can jump to 9p, can the 201 trial jump to 4p and beyond...? Is it worth the punt? Red or black ;)

The FIT biotech link was a bit of a curveball to me. This appears to be some of Satu's Finland contacts who had a technology that could vaguely be applied to VAL101. Confusingly they also have a product called FIT101, which appears to have no obvious connection to VAL101.

I've had a background read of FIT biotechs work, the main jist I'm getting is that it uses something called a GTU (gene transfer unit) for gene therapies. The concept being that instead of injecting regular doses of expensive dna/protein/peptide, you inject a single dose of viral vector encoding for a required protein (....VAL101?) in the body (or in a host system/manufacturing process?). i.e. one small cheaper dose should be enough for a permanent effect.

Does that make sense in the context of an old RNS that said there were cost problems and delays with the commercial manufacture of VAL101?

I have a few questions beyond that, is it safe to permanently switch on the BCL2 apoptosis-cell-death gene? Is that a manufacturing process or a patient gene therapy? Can you disable it?

I'm not 100% sure where he's gone wrong recently. You can argue the conspiratorial line, some groups are clearly upset at his alleged cold fusion enterprise, or his AI biotech drug discovery company. He has a decent track record, and only recently he managed to sell his stakes in Nightstar (I think? could be wrong) for a serious multiple of his original investment.

It'll all come out in the wash soon. He has backed a company called Industrial Heat, who recently started shipping sample units of a first commercial generation of cold fusion heating devices, if it wasn't Woodford I would have laughed them off and assumed they were crackpots, but allegedly he has put in a few tens of millions. The fears are they are speculative and based on poor science, possibly even an attempt to offload quack science onto mug punters, but we'll see what happens when the first samples get into the hands of the scientific community. It's either a giant breakthrough or a well-intended career-ending mishap.

Drac, it's easier just to ignore Roses, I'll listen to what he has to say maybe once, twice, fifty times or so. But we are not going to get anything salient or productive out of him. He is but one of around six 'concerned investors/sockpuppets' we have inherited from whatever commercial beef SCLP seem to have with us - I could postulate at least two obvious reasons why he (and others) are here - Nobody behaves irrationally without a clear incentive and I'm reasonably confident his intentions are not altruistic.

Drac, from Satu's point of view, you would have to assume two core objectives.
1) There is a cashflow problem - fix it via the only means possible (or fail)
2) Cashflow weaknesses will materially affect bargaining for 201 - fix that with an open-ended dynamic financial loan (which she has).

I don't like it. But I can see the logical flow in it.

Also, and I admit I could be very wrong on this, I have been wondering whether the LoI for EU/US partners might actually be for hospitals where the trials could be run, that would explain why they are announced as partners, while still "seeking external funding".

If they are not providing funding, then they aren't financial partners, ergo they could simply be hospitals? Is my logic terrible? Another explanation is that its possible they are trying to split the financing between 3 companies/territories (EU, US, Asia?).

Is the Endometriosis treatment ready for clinic? The graph suggests it has completed pre-clinical.

Otherwise, I'm reading this to assume that VAL101 is 1-2 years away from the trial application. Lame.

You guys do need to remember that George is the COO and while he has input into financial elements, I presume the Chairman (Olivier), CFO (can't remember his name) and CEO (Satu) work out the placings, while George is mostly focussed on the day-to-day trials and project management.

So sure, he is the public face of Valirx, but that's only because years ago investors generally preferred his presentation style (I recall some horrendous early presentations given by Satu). I actually quite like the guy, assuming I can park my angst about the share price.

Yeah it is hard to spin a positive out of this. I cannot see how we can expect a 401 windfall in the next 6 weeks when deals like this are being cobbled together.

So....anyway. 6 weeks or so until the 201 trial completes.. we did have a spike last time, I suspect there was probably more market interest in 201, so I'll hope for a similar chain of events. With the new equity deal in place at least there will be a banker aggressively reminding Satu she has to put together a solid presentation of data.

Out of interest, does 301 need to go through the same initial safety tests? Or can it progress faster into efficacy stages.

To be fair, Woodford's WPCT has invested in a company allegedly developing workplace Cold-Fusion reactor heaters.

I know he has a track record of profitable and interesting trades, but that's going to need a serious hail-Mary science breakthrough to move that out of the bizarre category.

Most of his other trades seem remarkably decent.

I think I'm going to read the prospectus on my passive funds...I'll feel much better reading about the single digit annual growth in those!!!

The Valiseek salary costs do not appear particularly high.

£145kpa total in administrative expenses, deduct rent and utillities etc., the remainder shared between 4 directors, probably heavily skewed towards Dr Dilly who is probably the only full timer.
