Uncanny - For your question below, it is a semantic argument. The difference is that a cure will kill the tumours forever (or a reasonably long time). I would call VAL401 a "treatment" that should work as a prevention of growth, by limiting HSD10 cell growth metabolism. But if I understand correctly, if you discontinue VAL401, the tumour growth will probably return.

I've met some pretty switched on fund managers, but others who just seem mentally vacant with a tendency rely on the FANG group, BP & HSBC.

No one single factor, but there are a couple in the background.

SYNC was/is trading at a slight premium to today's core valuation (201p ish), that means that until there's evidence of progression it is technically overvalued on a daily basic, however SYNC might be seen as a longer term play and a growth story, so the valuation sits within a wide band, probably 200-250p at the moment. Clinical trial data will help/hinder this depending on their content.

They had a 5 month delay earlier this year at their manufacturing site (its pretty ninja high-end stuff, no room for errors) and that didn't help.

Throw in Brexit and a high exposure to AUTOLUS, who discontinued one trial and had a technical short overhang related to Woodford having a high stake in Autolus, he had to clear out a huge amount of Autolus stock and that put downwards pressure on both stocks.

I believe the above issues have all now been sorting out - manufacturing is switched on and the trials seem to be progressing forward, plus Woodford is gone.

Roses; when looking at ValJu's LSE and JasonPugh's Twitter feed looking at grammar and capitalization trends, what is typed, as well as both accounts having an erratic pro/anti bias, I'd say there is a moderate probability that ValJu and JasonPugh are the same person.

Nomlungu, my gut feeling is that when brokers sell these deals with their "investors" the ridiculous sized trades are blocks sold for equity trade/dumping onto the market. These are then sold back onto the market in smaller chunks for whatever value they get.

Seen them too many times on too many shares for them to be anything else. IMO anyway

Yes we spiked to 10p when the 401 trial finished, 201 results day could be similarly tasty. Another trial extension and I'll cry!!

401 has had 18+ months to get the Phase 3 (or joint 2b-3) trial on the go. So it would be nice to see some movement and a timeline in place, whoever is managing/paying for that trial..?

I was never fully convinced that VAL401 could be a blockbuster drug, but the active molecule has demonstrated specific effects (it inhibits out-of-control HSD-10 metabolic processes, so if the metabolic cell energy replication is going 10x normal speed, VAL401-type products in theory reduce the cell energy and replication, resulting in reduced cancer growth, and probably less of the related pain). So reduced tumour volume and pain (palliative to begin with, probably).

There was an interesting real life study that flagged up peculiar similar effects. VAL401 is basically risperidone in a fatty binder, risperidone is/was given to schitzophrenics and mental health patients. There are some studies showing significantly lower lung cancer rates in these populations, despite the unusual correlation that they were more likely to smoke. I am not fully aware of how accurate this correlation is.

The VAL301 endometriosis trial management/donkeywork is being handled by Victoria D'Arquino, but the trial development has been outsourced to Aptus Clinical around May-June 2019.

The BBC has been running it's endometriosis health programmes and parliament studies, and if you want to go all loopy the Aptus Clinical team are basically old AstraZeneca staff (I think AZ closed down a large research site, so the Aptus Clinical team are ex-AstraZeneca workers). I wonder if they have friends.... ;)

BBC getting very excitable about endometriosis recently, I wonder if Valirx have some interesting news from Aptus regarding the clinical trials?

Interesting, seems to be almost following a defined ramp profile, if it is, the share price might be upwards for 3-4 days until a probable correction. Are people getting excited for the December 2019 trial data? Perhaps some whispers in the background?

My only wish is that I exited on the 401 results, I had accidentally timed a buying splurge anticipating the 401 results when the price was ridiculously low. I could have exited with a £15k gain that day...I decided to stay and I'm sure you know the rest of that story!

Valiseek is a small molecule drug with no viral/gene therapy connections, if I forgot to add that context. Risperidone is a lot cheaper and simpler to manufacture.

Only potential connection could be GENEICE DNA vector materials, although a bit of a stretch at that. AAV/gene therapies are growing rapidly.

It probably relates more to companies like Freeline Therapeutics and other AAV gene therapy markets. Freeline is doing some nice work as part of the Syncona portfolio, long-term genetic 1-time treatments for various types of genetic illnesses (haemophiliia bleeding disorders, lysosomal problems etc.).
