Later on in the evening I'll post some very helpful screenshots off my Interactive Brokers Pro account where you'll see what amounts were put through and at what prices. Obviously those large figures would have been split in tens of smaller traders so that it would make it impossible to figure out specially for us retail investors. As far as I see it, the Cube fund could have already made their money and might eat, sleep and repeat the same if they're the ones behind this morning bigger drop, or let it stand on the fca short 'outstanding' yet to close records until they see fit to report it.

Remember that it's a voluntary arrangement between the funds and the Fca and therefore the timing of the reporting an either new position, increase, reduction or the closing off a short position doesn't have to be reported even many weeks after and sometime even months after according to my own personal experience with a stock I was invested years ago for which the shorting fund reported a brand new position worth 1.1% which was opened about 60 days before. When I noticed that they were late to reported, I and other investors placed a written official complaint with the Fca and told by them that any updates on their investigation will not be given unless they issued a fine to that hedge fund for which then they would had publicly placed their names on their website to make an example. Unfortunately, they probably decided that it wasn't serious enough to merit anything done to that fund than probably a small slap on the wrist.

In my opinion the FCA is a toothless financial watchdog that has been responsible for many UK loss of money due to their lack of action and tendency to lean more towards supporting those suppoused 'healthy' practices that hedge funds do on a regular basis to profit from the UK stock market whilst devaluing our investments to keep those funds happy because its 'healthy'.

What a day we've been through.

It never seems to end.

I see Qube Research & Technologies Limited with their new 0.51% freshly placed. Could this be an old position that would had already be in place and reported today before the 3:30pm FCA shorts declaration cut off so that it would had been shown on today's roll of current shorts outstanding? I think so, its dated the 2nd August. Therefore it would had been opened last Friday knowingly that by Monday it would had come handy as of course we've seen already. I stated that earlier this morning between 8 and 8:30 there was this amount put through to short the cpi stock with about 2.6million shares. See below the ranges of amounts pushed through and where it would have executed at as the shares get bought up and the amounts put out to short reduces as it climbs up towards 16p.

This information has been given inside my Interactive Brokers Pro account. It comes as part of the account and they're quite helpful in understanding what amounts of shares were used and what price were executed.

989,459k shares were used to short at about 15.41p followed by another 481,456k shares at 15.845p followed by another 517,486k at 15.948p followed by another 356,780 at 15.97p followed by 181,108 at 16.005p followed by another 39,177 at 16.194p followed by another at 144,277 at 16.20p.

Just to be correct, cpi was never traded at 15p for buyers but for sellers only early on the morning.

The buy offer prices were around starting from 15.48p for smaller purchases and raising up to 16.54p as the morning trades continued into the afternoon. So, for the record cpi never got lower than 15.48p for buying purchases, but at 15p if you were wanting out earlier into the first five minutes of the opening of the trading day. Hope that helps to clear some confusion or misunderstanding as others reading our posts might misread data entered in this bb and act accordingly to what we post. Take care bruv.🙂

Early on in the day I stated that 15.86p would have been the bottom or a penny under my last Friday entry at 16.89p. I don't know if tomorrow could bring a further downward spike near the 15p whereabouts. I just can't see tomorrow be another red day for Capita although the MM's could initially open down before pulling it up towards mid 16s and then head for closing above 17p where AimMaster2018 estimated that today would had close at. The US Dow Jones or Wall Street has retaken over 600 lost points and perhaps by tomorrow all the doom and bloom would have settled down with the hammered stocks returning slowly back to their start point before the sell off took off.

Let's see.

I had a £20k paper loss long future expiring position in harbour energy back in 2022 that a few weeks after having to be closed out at the expiring deadline, it rised up and would had netted me £20k in tax profits. Unfortunately, I was timed out which wouldn't have happened if it had been a rolling non expiring bet. We live and learn.

The only time I failed to make the most of spread betting was when I foolish used fixed time future positions where by the time the time had ran out I would have been closed at a loss if I stock I had a long position open didn't recover from a previous drop.

However, had I just open a never expiring roll over spread position and paid the interest and overnight night fees that came with it, then back then when interest rates were still low, all of my long fixed future positions would had eventually paid handsomely. So, we can say for sure that spread betting works if you don't over use the funds and over leverage and stick to rolling bets and avoid future expiring bets.

Should I be worried?

No, because I don't spread bet or use CFD to speculate to accumulate.

I did make use of those types of 'investment' financial instruments, but learned the hard way that the house always wins if the markets start going in freefall as we've witnessed and still witnessing to date.

Just to let you know, I used to speculate on the Vix too, but got taken out a few times when the market volatility spread uncontrollably like wildlife.

The CBOE Volatility index .VIX, also known as Wall Street's "fear gauge" breached its long-term average level of 20 points last week and was currently at 40.63.

This is where spread betting companies milk it all the way for every penny they can get. With most stocks opening with a large gap down with on top of it the MM's famous wide spreads, then I can only presume many would had seen the top bar of their account platform saying Margin Call add more funds or close out.

We're ahead to the sells volumes shares with 1million worth of buys made up from a mixture of AT and [O] genuine trades. So, yes indeed the AT trades are keeping the boat steady whilst the [O] trade punters are making the most and buy up before she leaves the sweet sixteen behind for good; I hope!😉

I guess you too want to buy cpi cheap as chips to pile on and average down your current cpi hold with that spare cash you brought up from under your mattress over the weekend. I hope you didn't need to raid your granny piggybank.🐖🤑.

Anyhow, cpi is not the only stock retaking slowly but surely some of the lost territory. It's happening now guys. Up we go again. 🤩

I really hope you've been buying Savage_KeyboardR below 16p as cpi retakes lost ground due to those US algos being used a wrecking ball against all the stock market as a whole with no prisoners taken in between the 'killing spree'.

I wish to say that earlier on in the morning at the opening the MM'S wide spread was already in place to wreck the cpi share price.

If an investor wanted out, the price would have been 15.02p and to buy cpi at 16.02p

I don't see further pushing down and if any attempts are made, it will bought up immediately. You also have to take in consideration that the CPi MM's are not stupid and know it too well how to make it rebound once they've made their books balance. Let's see.

It looks like the cpi share price is stabilising around 15.86p or 1pence below NoFear last Friday 140,000 purchase at 16.86p.

It's really shocking watching the stock market crashing down.

My head is spinning 🥴

Never seen so much share price destruction in a very long time.

We're talking here about everything getting and everyone wacked.

I guess many shorting funds will have made up for their previous short squeezes if they're still locked in a loosing bet. This is now the time for those funds to clear out and perhaps also become longs if they can exit at their desired prices.

I guess those are amounts of shares that were used at those seen share prices to be bought by the buyers and that's where the shorter makes the difference after borrowing it and everyone's happy getting a bargain price at sub 16p.

I had a quick look at it and it shows that about 989,459k shares were used to short at about 15.41p followed by another 481,456k shares at 15.845p followed by another 517,486k at 15.948p followed by another 356,780 at 15.97p followed by 181,108 at 16.005p followed by another 39,177 at 16.194p followed by another

144,277 at 16.20p.

These are the amounts that were used to short between 8 and 9:30 starting with the highest volume at the earliest of the morning going lower towards the 9:30 last trade.

Although, it still shows just under 4,6million available for shorting purposes in my interactive stock pro brokers account
