Good Evening Kipper9π
I just noticed in my Interactive Brokers pro account that an amount of between 4 and 3.5million shares that were available for the last six weeks that in the last week become smaller and down towards the 3.2 million shares available to short has as of late this morning suddenly went down to just 127k shares with only 1 lender left to lend out which I presume have been put into action today as seen by everyone as cpi dropped after stalling to rise as it remained glued on before the drop took place.
Looking at today shorting action
it appears by looking at the short selling Interactive brokers chart details that various large positions were fired off starting in smaller amounts and then raising it up towards lunch time and were imho used for those shorting purposes and these are:
15,713 @18.664p about 9am
41,316 @18744p about 9am
22,886 @18.773p about 10am
56,907 @18.776p about 12:30
117,931 @18.731p about 12:30
379,762 @18.553p about 13:00
176,420 @18.597p about 13:30
72,517 @18.671p about 15:30
278,065 @18.514p about 16:00
The lenders rate for shorting purposes was showing at 2.2754%
So, I've got a feeling that we might get another 1.5 million shares yet to short with cpi tomorrow or by Friday. But, to be honest if an Rns was to come by Friday announcing the Capita One sale completion, then if any amounts are yet to be put to work, then perhaps they will fail or end nowhere if the MM'S decide to pull cpi up on the Capita one breaking news.
