The UK tax authority has dropped a ban on investors holding portions of shares in tax-free Individual Savings Accounts, in a move that should help channel more money into stocks.

Although many UK-based investment trading apps offer investors the ability to buy fractions of a single share within Isas, HM Revenue & Customs said last year that fractional shares did not qualify for tax-free accounts.

But the tax authority has reversed its position ahead of an expected change to the law by the UK government. The change may come into force as early as September 30, according to draft secondary legislation seen by the Financial Times.

HMRC said: “The government has committed to changing the Isa rules to allow certain fractional shares. Taking a pragmatic approach, we will not raise an assessment on managers or investors for fractional shares acquired before these changes are made.”

Fractional shares are particularly attractive to younger and less wealthy investors, as they can buy expensive stocks, such as chipmaker Nvidia and technology companies Apple, Amazon and Tesla, from just £1, rather than needing hundreds of pounds to purchase a single share.

The previous Conservative government said in 2023 it would introduce legislation to allow fractional shares to be held in Isas but did not do so before the July 4 general election.

It was on the discord group that I had mentioned. I even had the Kodak stock, Amc Entertainment Google, and others. Back in 2008, I traded in various markets including the currency markets and traded in the Asia early morning shares rises. I was much younger back then and had loads of energy. I was making great returns with the E-Trade UK platform before it got closed down and no longer available.

I miss those days.

Had various stocks including one that I sold without thankfully making a loss and that was the weight watchers stock that in 2018 was worth $110usd and today only worth 80cents. I had it at $8usd before dumping ASAP.

Indeed just about everything in the USA is two to three times at least overvalued for most of the US stocks. Thanks for your reply.

It's my first time in my lse membership as NoFear.

I've never posted an article that had was purposely done to deceive or profit for my own or someone else benefit. If you look at the posting time, we were almost at close of the bell meaning that it wouldn't had benefited hardly anyone unless you're one of those that decides to act before you think and reason on the news whether good or bad or better buy or sell just before the bell rings out.

So, forgive me if I may so, don't think for a second that I has much attention to your previous posts or took those with any seriousness albeit some of their contents was good and in line with my thoughts too. But nonetheless I was well aware of your style of posting and decided to give you a miss and don't entertain you anymore notwithstanding that some of your posts had a reasonable amount of content and fell within my same views

Anyhow, if you think that my FactSet pdf files uploaded back in March and recently are fakes, then that's your belief and hope others don't judge me on a Capita news post that was published by a website up and running since 1999 in the business of releasing that kind of news article and therefore totally out of my controls. Nonetheless, I too was initially confused and thought what a heck Its going on, but my post was too late into the publishing stage and not longer retrievable and got released as it is.

If you all had read my immediate posts after publishing the 'outdated' or fake news according to most as you call it, then I try to post clues in my content to put a spin on it, but soon the wiser ones realised that was an outdated but erroneously reposted with the 2nd September 2024 that took not only me by surprise but many others too.

Imho, I sincerely have apologised if it came across as foolish and irritating and promised not to be repeated here or elsewhere on the lse. Fake News or outdated news made to look like new news whether by error or negligence shouldn't be posted here as has the potential to have an effect on a shareholder buy or sell decisions.

Now, please let's all move forward and turn the page. Thanks

Thanks for not being too hard on me. To be honest with you, yes initially I did believe too, but after going through the article I realised it had two versions of the Capita workforce levels and the Ceo not being AH. I then decided to hurry it up and post it as we were approaching the closing time and said to myself I'll take the rap for it and bear the consequences if any for my post.

Anyhow, I'll be on the phone tomorrow contacting that website and will let them know of that incorrect article and ask to remove it.

No more cheap fake news.

Everyone is starving for anything that is posted on the Internet that looks genuinely true. That website has been posting contracts awards articles since 1999 so not really new in the job. The reason why I ran the Fake news article was because Shorty39 mentioned that 1 share trade and thought to join in the fun.

You certainly don't get often opportunities to dig up believing news media about Capita that later we discovered was not correct.

Anyhow, just laugh it off and don't take it all to heart.

As Kipper9 and Shorty39 said, it was good to get the bums off the comfort zones. Better be ready, because the next news will be the very important one. Cheers🍻

Not only the date was a recent one Trenners but the Capita staff level(37,000) was mentioned correctly on the upper part of the outdated article followed by the higher staff( 52,000) levels working at Capita in that year 2011 further down mentioned in the article.

That website must have been hacked to be so offline with the old Capita article.

If you guys read my posts carefully you could have figured out the plot was built to be just Fake News.

Obviously when I saw it I read it properly that the Ceo was not AH, I quickly ran a post for all good and bad to fall for it. I guess we're really starving for some sort of great news and had this been true would have been great stuff.

Sorry if I have given false hopes to you guys. I didn't post it with any intention to personally gain from it.

What we've learned today is that always do your own diligence. All my previous pdf factset files upload here previously are 💯% true and accurate from the source. Anything else I may post from other websites like the one today, is nothing to do with me and not liable.

If I told you about our text messages exchanges that I previously had with Helen Parris you would think that me and her were some sort of family and or business relations. Not everything that I personally discussed or messaged her was later on published here and did keep certain aspects of our discussions excluded from the public forums as I had classified as private, buy not necessarily info that would have had an effect on the share price.

If you know how to get her best side, then you're on good bumpy free road, otherwise you'll get nothing off her. I have of course called her name and made protest on their rns delays, but that's just like any relationship that's sometimes is not all lovely lovely if you get my drift.
