RE: Sell why you can29 May 2023 13:16
I would say that you are probably right because with all politicians from all of the parties, what they say they will do and what they actually do are two different things, but see in that Lawson article - "The trade lobby group, Offshore Energies UK, warns that 90 per cent of its operators are now reducing their investment. So the Conservative Government might achieve by accident what Labour proposes to do by design".
I don't even believe it is "by accident". It is all planned, but they do it in such a way that they can later claim it was accidental and use the "Not our fault" excuse to cover up. How many times do we hear of things described as "a blunder"? They weren't blunders.
They use the "tell them what they want to hear" tactic. They will say anything to hide their true intention from the voters. They speak with forked tongue
We had an example of this sort of duplicity from David Cameron. Cameron was photographed outside Number 10 with a group from the IF campaign - "IF" being Increase Foreign aid (they used "IF Campaign", slicker than "IFA Campaign").
He said, "I don't want to increase foreign aid but these people are making me do it. It's what the people want" - but many months later, we found that Cameron had sent out agents to set up the "IF Campaign", so he did want to increase foreign aid, but he used a ruse to deny it to avoid annoying his voters.
A couple of years after his premiership ended, he said that his proudest achievement during his time as PM, was to increase foreign aid - proof that his comments at the time were lies. It was all a set-up, bluff to fool the public. He wanted to increase foreign aid, but he said the opposite.
As for these "Conservatives", who are not true Conservatives, destroying the North Sea energy industry by "accident" - why would they want to do that? Those who know, know why, but the rest are in a Hall Of Mirrors and can't see what is going on because what they is distorted.
