By the way - in case any one accuses me of contradicting myself in now talking about 15p when yesterday I talked about 80p - read the things I said - "should be 80p" - there is a huge difference between theoretical value and where the market values it. How far will monetising Pensacola lift the sp? I think it isn't worth trying to guess. If announcing that drilling proved a huge gas field and later announcing that is almost double the size they expected can't lift the sp, what can?

Will the NSTA ever announce the 33rd Rounds awards? I think they probably will, when - who knows. I believe they are looking for excuse to not grant them. So if they do announce any, it is only because they couldn't find a good reason not to.

Those two licences that DELT kept out the five jointly held with Capricorn don't last for ever. Will the NASTy people grant an extension? One of them expires in November I think the RNS said. That isn't far away.

Yesterday the public had the wool pulled over their eyes. We know that the "new" licenses that Sunak was crowing about weren't new at all. They should have come out in Q2. We know that Sunak wasn't granting them - the NSTA was (should have done, but didn't and might not ever if they can find the right excuse).

Yesterday we saw an example of a combined government and media propaganda stunt. That was the state telling the media what to report.

The BBC often analyses government announcements and points out the true picture \ the deception - for example, the gov't announces X million pounds for new hospitals. The BBC will point out that it isn't new money and most of the "new" hospitals had been announced months prior to that date and only some of them are actually new ones.

Yesterday, any journalist worth his salt would have made the same sort of exposure of the bluff from Slippery Sunak - but none of them did. They were told to report the official mantra. The BBC was keen to shout "more than one hundred new licences" - they weren't new.

Of course the BBC let the opponents - the greenies - have their say. That would have been permitted by Sunak because he doesn't really want to grant new licences, he was just saying the right things to win votes from people concerned about our energy security and about rising gas bills. He wants the green opposition to succeed in preventing him from issuing new licences.

So what we saw was straight out of 1984 - state issued propaganda presented as news reporting.

- and it dismays me - note - not "will be" but "They expect" and "expected to". How's that for committment.

I am expecting the NSTA to announce these new licences, yeah, and I expected to win the lottery last Saturday.

Most of that announcement is cover up bluff, sneaky phrasing to hide their true intentions.

In pointing out those extracts, it shows that you failed to understand what I had said. You are letting them fool you.

About - "the 100+ licences referred to are part of the 33rd round. It's my interpretation that Sunak also commits to further rounds" - yes they are in the 33rd Round, but Sunak was claiming that HE (not the NSTA) is going to grant them when they were coming anyway.

I never trust anyone who uses devious tricks like that. It shows what he is like, so as for "It's my interpretation that Sunak also commits to further rounds" - I don't believe he intends it to happen- remember Cameron and care home fees - he said he was committed to that but it never happened, and then there was the IF Campaign.

I know I keep mentioning those two, but they are just examples, there are many more examples of politicians saying things but they never carried them through.

I'm still sceptical. Don't forget that the NSTA used to be the North Sea Oil & Gas Authority, or some similar title.

When they changed the name to the NS Transition Authority (or is it Agency?)that was to show that it had a new mission - the transition from oil and gas to green energy.

Oil and gas isn't considered "green" even though things like EVs, wind turbines and solar panels, which do great harm to the planet due to all the mining needed, maintenance needed to keep wind farms going (offshore wind turbines are under constant battering from salty sea spray so they are corroding and need constant repainting and repairs, the problem of old turbine blades (toxic substances) going to landfill ... lots more .. - so back to my point - transition - i.e to shut down the NS oil and gas fields.

Their mission is to close down the NS oil and gas industry so that we need to import LNG from the USA so they make a huge profit.

A new postulation about the delay in announcing the new licences - it has allowed Sunak make a vote-winning announcement about how HE is going to grant more than a hundred new licences (and some news reports said he HAS announced them but I can't find them).

So where are they? This is the crux of my postulation - the delay is to allow a pressure group, probably JSO, to make a legal challenge and the High Court will ban them.

Sunak gives us the "Not my fault, I tried to grant new licences" excuse, but remember Cameron and the IF Campaign.

I hope I am wrong and at 07:00 an RNS comes out - DELT wins new licences.

The big talk - "Hundreds of new oil and gas licenses will be granted in the UK, the Prime Minister has confirmed today (Monday 31 July)."

However - further down - "Prime Minister commits to future oil and gas licensing rounds" - so no action, it's all talk, all wind and hot air.

Then - "The Government and the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) are today announcing a joint commitment to undertake future licensing rounds, which will continue to be subject to a climate compatibility test" - "future" and note - conditions attached.

After that there is nothing about new gas exploration but it goes on and on and on about carbon capture.

The NSTA might announce new licences, but it will be - my mind has gone blank - what is the expression for when people do something that don't really want to do? "Goes against the grain"? No, there's a better one.

But one thong is certain - there will be no future rounds, that is total bluff, they will use that "subject to a climate compatibility test" condition to worm out of granting any more licences.

Remember the old cowboy films - "White man speaks with forked tongue" - well, Sunak plays the white man - he speaks with forked tongue.

The news reports are useless, we don't know what he has done - but what seems clear is that he is taking credit for new licences that were coming anyway and should have been announced in Q2 by the NSTA. Politicians - all bluff, smoke and mirrors - talk about sneaky bar stewards.

Scanning through news reports - some say he has announced the new licences, some say things like has "committed to" new licences. I can't find anything on the NSTA web site but could there be an RNS tomorrow or the next day?.

Also on that news report - the BBC was lying again about the temperature.
