Im not trying to pretending im an equities wizard im trying to point out that passive aggressive comments aren't helpful to people generally interested in talking to like minded individuals on investments. I have no interest in having who's the better investor arguments with people, its not productive and gets people no where

Im sorry I have to stick up for PJ here, he is just asking why markets have reacted to this news as they have done. relating to the speculative market manipulation isn't a helpful overall picture for people looking to invest as the proposal is that the equity market is rigged and why are we investing if that's the overall consensus we are essentially saying its like playing blackjack against a dealer so why invest?.. I am an investor in BMN FYI. PJ there could be a few reasons why this has dropped. they mention a care and maintenance shutdown of Vanchem which can cause delays and backlog and mention operational output weighted to H2 due to this meaning future shutdowns can impact production targets. Then you have the market growth expectations possibly the 24% increase isn't inline with expectations, who knows? I feel in this environment its good results but obviously the market disagrees somewhere.

Picked up 10.5k shares at 19.7P, looks like a good company with produce to production throughput all along the business.
Some global Macro drivers to look for and some good news looking to come, still have to be wary around how markets are going to react while still in covid and conscious about another slow down but even with that risk it looks promising

its very weird how the SP isn't responding to vanadium price sensitively, youd think they would be more so.

Depends in what you believe the potential VRFB market could be and vanadium demand to supply. I have looked at forecasts expecting a 50% YoY conservative VRFB market forecast into 2030 and vanadium supply deficits from 2022 onwards. But all that aside its down to do you think they will meet there medium term output target of 8400Mtv, if you do then the share price isn't reflective of this and there is big value. Still is without risks but if the above is yes then sub 30 is still a good price

Theres a 5.7% leap in vanadium prices in Europe on the 6th from the last price review on the 23/12. it usually rises first half of the year but hopefully its a continued pricing trend. Sitting on the sidelines until i get paid (was meant to go in start of Dec but had some money surprises), wish you all luck but hope i dont miss this boat.

I think the main reason for the subdued reaction is down to the own company announcement advising that the diamond tender wouldn't make a material impact and then we have the imminent share dilution. Hopefully once that is tied up and diamonds prices recover we all might have something to celebrate. I'm not looking for big positives in this update. Some stabilisation on diamonds prices, update on FCF going to plan, update on debt reduction numbers and hopefully a increase in revenues. I dont want to put a number to it but if we are in that position and the market doesnt rerate, it's all an opportunity to add weight right? Good luck for monday all

You are right petra is a under valued entity but there are probably numerous negatives and potential future outcomes that are preventing the acquisition. Diamond demand is weighted on global economic performance and with the slow down across americas, asia and europe some private equities or miners would be reluctant to take a punt. Also the debt on top makes them more expensive and the fact they dont want to make a failed bid to strengthen Petra share price and make a re-offer more expensive. I think you have a strong likeliness if china-US trade talks gain weight and the brexit scenario gets a good outcome across europe, let's hope that comes

Hopefully some trade progress in the coming weeks and some roll back on tariffs, a welcome sign for the US and Asian diamond markets. I have a buy interest in Petra
