Dallo,
Regarding the latest takeover rumour.
“After meeting Liberty Global finance chief Charlie Bracken this week, analysts at New Street Research noted that ITV was in the thoughts of the US media giant.
Bracken "didn’t want to get people thinking they are suddenly going to buy ITV,” New Street said, but "it was hard not to leave the meeting with the view that it is being given some level of thought internally".”
If they do intend bidding for ITV I think it will be once they acquire regulatory approval for the sale of assets to Vodafone. There could be an outcome to this deal in a couple of month’s time, around May 2019. I’m expecting the ITV share price to reflect this on news of the deal.
Once approval is acquired LG would be in a very strong cash position to purchase ITV and also pay down its high debt levels. IMHO, once LG and VOD get the green light, it will be now or never regarding LG and ITV. LG won't get a better chance to buy an under-valued ITV. If they do make a move, we may see a bun fight. Interesting times ahead.
