WOW, that's a staggering amount £600m a week.

Let's hope that a potential predator is out there? My money is still on Liberty, once the Vodafone deal goes through. They will have a mountain of cash €18.4B to be able to buy ITV and pay down debt. It will be now or never for them once the VOD deal goes through. Fingers crossed.

I would hope to see a turnaround with the low share price valuation within the next 12 to 18 months, and would be happy with a share price of 300p. Having bought in previously at 217p. The dividends are good for the patient investor. As good a place to park some cash as any.

Maybe we will need an end result to Brexit for the share price recovery to start.

•Vodafone (VOD +1.5%) has decided against a private hearing with the EU to defend its €18.4B acquisition of Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA) assets, Bloomberg reports -- a sign of confidence that the deal can go forward without major hurdles.

•The company says it will instead continue a constructive dialogue with the European Commission.

•That suggests there are no thorny issues that can't be resolved through negotiations.

In my opinion I think that there is next to no chance of us leaving the EU without a deal. I think that the government would revoke article 50 before letting that happen. With an extension looking the obvious choice. I think that the stock market will respond favourably to this, and the FTSE should rally, helping ITV along the way. JMO.

Vodafone sees mid-year EU approval for Liberty Global deal

•Vodafone (NASDAQ:VOD) still expects to secure EU antitrust approval for its $22B purchase of Liberty Global's (NASDAQ:LBTYA) assets in Germany and eastern Europe by the middle of the year after receiving the European Commission's statement of objections.

•"The Commission's statement of objections is an expected part of the review process," Vodafone said in a statement. "We will review the statement and continue our constructive dialogue with the Commission."

Solley, I love your optimism. However I doubt a takeover price of 300p, will be achievable. I hope to be proved wrong.

Bloomberg: BT Group mulls heavier job cuts of 25,000

•UK telecom BT Group (BT +1.1%) is looking at a deeper restructuring that could shrink a workforce of 100,000 by about a quarter over five years, Bloomberg reports.

•That's a significant jump over reductions of about 13,000 positions that were announced last spring; about a quarter of those cuts have been made so far.

•The deeper move would save several hundred million pounds per year. It was discussed before new CEO Philip Jansen took over in February.

•Meanwhile Jefferies analyst Jerry Dellis said a business briefing with the company revealed "no imminent threats" that would affect expectations. Weaker demand for fixed voice is being managed with other growth and cost cuts, he says.

I would expect something to happen this year if the SP continues. Only problem is what is ITV worth - £2 a share? Not sure

I guess ITV is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. I would hope that the BOD would hold out for at the very least 200p per share. Us ITV shareholders have suffered enough now, something has to happen ASAP.

Yes you’re quite right regarding what was laid out regarding the ballot paper. However, my argument, and I’m sure that you understood the point that I was making, regarding the May’s deal, that meets what people voted for i.e. Bring to an end of free movement, take back control of our borders, and make our own laws, saving us vast amounts of money that we currently send to the EU every year.

I agree with your comments.
I just wish that MP's would vote for the deal that's on offer. It deliver's on what the majority voted for.
I voted to remain in the EU. But I'm now just fed up of everything to do with Brexit.
Although, I don't want to leave without a deal. That would in my opinion be a disaster.
