Makes you wonder, has a potential predator been picking these up in the low 100p's, waiting on a conclusion to Brexit, before making a move. If there is any interested parties I would guess that they've been buying up on the cheap.
We maybe in for a very interesting next few months. We do need an end to Brexit though, so that we can move on, with or without a takeover deal ITV are undervalued.
Bad day at the office....... But improved8 Oct 2019 18:23
Considering that the ITV share price was down 6.15p @116.15p this morning with the FTSE100 at this time down approximately 20pts. .......... ITV closed down 3.25p @119.25p with the FTSE100 down 53pts.
Decent recovery with buyers stepping in this afternoon. I will stick with my opinion that we have seen the bottom @102p in the ITV share price. Although, anything is possible with the uncertainties surrounding Brexit. No share price goes up in a straight line.
I'm also looking forward to the Q3 results next month, with hopefully the release of the Britbox launch date.
RE: BritBox management team gears up for launch5 Oct 2019 11:57
Once ITV launch Britbox the ITV takeout price goes up. The valuation will only go one way. From this current low valuation, I can only see a re-rating taking place. Happy to hold and collect the dividend yield. My target price being 180p within 12 months. JMO.
Solley, I don't think that they would have much choice in the matter, ITV may try and defend any bid but money talks, and shareholder will accept a good price. JMO.
Any potential predator may well wait and see how successful Britbox is before they bid. The good news with this is that the valuation will have to increase depending on the success of Britbox. I think that the potential with Britbox is huge. I wouldn't be surprised to see Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Eastenders moved over to Britbox in the future. The days of free TV are going to be over soon.
"ITV shouldn’t be yielding more the 4% considering the low rate on the new bond issue" "Some people on here were so sure Liberty was going to bid after receiving VOD money"
H-hi,
I'm guilty has charged. I was one that expected Liberty to be making a bid. Is Brexit holding things up? Who knows. Do any potential predators expect the pound to fall further if we crash out with a no deal? I would think that the pound has further to fall. So it could be argued that Liberty are keeping their powder dry ready to pounce Without all the Brexit uncertainties over the past 3.5 years, that has clearly had an impact on advertising, I believe that ITV would be trading around 190p and yielding 4.2%. JMO
I agree with you. I just think that we need something, ie. Brexit or good news from ITV, for the share price to recover further. I hope that I'm wrong and the SP continues its recovery next week.
Content is king and ITV have it. The value will be out given time.
While the ITV share price has found it's feet over the last 6 weeks, I feel that we have run out of steam this week. I think that we'll need Brexit resolved, or a good Q3 trading statement on 12 Nov to find further strength.
I'm looking forward to the ITV trading update on Tue 12 Nov 2019 2019 Q3 Trading Update. Hopefully ITV will give more details of the Britbox launch date, expected to be in the Autumn 2019. This may give boost to the share price. Brexit is holding us back, still.
Maybe you're right mate, I'm only going off what the RNS said at the time that Woodford sold most of his holding when the RNS stated that Woodford's holding was "Less than 5%" If you're right I would ask why didn't the RNS state that he held less than 4%? No I haven't looked recently at the STOB website.
When Woodford sold the majority of his holding in STOB, the RNS stated that Woodford's holding was "less than 5%". So I would think that Woodford still owns just under 5%. JMO.
