There are posters like the above on most under performing shares discussion boards, I think that these kind of posters are there to make themselves look good at the expense of other posters, and put people down who are underwater in their investment. What they get out of it god only knows.

There is a poster on the ITV board on another website, he doesn't own any ITV shares, but delights in others miss fortune, because he's far too clever to have invested in ITV. If it makes these individuals feel better about themselves well let them play their game. This poster most probably doesn't have a pot to **** in.

I agree with you Fleccy, I see great value in BT and great growth potential in Fibre, but this maybe 4 or 5 years away. However, markets are always forward thinking, so we may not have to wait 5 years for the shares to recover. I would rather be invested in an undervalued company with a low PE than an over valued one with a sky high PE. I'm also sat on a heavy paper loss at the moment but I'm happy collecting my £9k BT dividends, I'm being rewarded while I wait for the recovery in the share price. Good dividend paying share like BT have always served me well over the medium to long-term. Keep the faith BT will come good.

I first bought into BT in early May 2018, so a relatively new BT shareholder. Within this time period of 21 months BT has only once dropped for 6 weeks consecutively, until this week that is when it will be twice. But, never for the seventh week consecutively. So I live in hope that next week will be an up week. With dividend payment on Monday 3rd Feb and no doubt some shareholders will be in DRIP and others that will be reinvesting their dividends back into BT, this should help support the depressed share price. Fingers crossed.

Regarding the BT dividend. The dividend was never going to be discussed at Q3 results, for the simple reason a dividend isn't paid out in Q3. I expect the dividend to be held as already agreed by the management for this financial year. With a 50% chance of a cut next financial year.

I'm sure that there will be another MF so called expert along tomorrow the complete opposite opinion to today's fools BT article. Anyone who takes there advise deserves to lose the shirt off their back.

I suppose it all depends on when investors bought into BT. I made my first investment in May 2018 @217p and topped up in November 2019 at a shade under 196p, and again today @168.53p. Bringing down my average to 202.92p. If I include dividends received, this brings my average down further to 187.49p. So I'm down with a paper loss at the moment, but believe that I will make a good profit in BT. So like any share, it all depends on the purchase price.

No one can control the share price. But the CFO knows what state the company is in.
