BT will announce soon to the government that they are in financial difficulty and need help.
They will blame the virus etc etc which gives them a golden opportunity to cover up the real reason as in is their continuing incapability to run a solvent company.......in other words Boris, " its not our fault"
Blame something else and get a ...get out of jail free card.
Boris and his buddies will loan BT money causing yet more debt.

I took early retirement in 1995 at the age of just 28 years of age, and I've managed to have a good standard of living out of my investing ever since. I don't claim to be an expert, far from it, but I must be doing something right for the past 24 years.

Fleccy, you have the same strategy as me mate. I've been investing in the stock market for over 30 years and only invest in company's with a proven track record for paying good dividends like BT. I'm also sat on a heavy paper loss in BT, but every dividend I receive brings down my average price. Ignore the new posters who try and make themselves look good on a BB after the fall in the share price, they're on every BB, you won't hear from them when the BT share price starts to recover. Remember this Fleccy you have the shares that will recover while the smart @rses probably don't have a pot to p iss in.

It's been reported on ITV national news is that the coronavirus will likely peak in 3 to 9 weeks.

I can only think that John Malone is playing the long game, he knows that at some point someone will bid for ITV, he's holding on to his shareholding for a reason.

Any predator that may be interested in acquiring ITV must surly be about to show their hand. But I said all this previously when the share price was at 102p. The stock market is valuing a lot of shares at bargain prices, none more than ITV. ITV own a lot of content that a USA company may want. Time will tell.

I'm the same Fleccy, good paying dividend yield shares can save the day, collect the dividends, if the worst happens and the share price goes south, dividends received over a few years can get your initial investment back, usually with a nice profit over the medium to long-term. It works for me anyway.

Well you can forget a new CEO and also a dividend cut.

Anyone else think that there has been one hell of a over reaction to the coronavirus in world markets? Markets always over react on the upside and down side.

According to ADVFN BT closing UT price was 141.62p.
DOW improved 300 points on the London close. Fingers crossed for Monday.

Just looking at the latest figures above regarding the low coverage of full fibre broadband. The growth prospects at BT are being over looked by the fickle market. Just comparing my own home broadband deal at £13.99 per month. Once I have no option and have to have fibre broadband my bill will increase to at least £20 per month, a 50% increase. So every household is going to have a larger bill. BT and it's shareholders will do very well out of this IMHO.
