Well, I have said goodbye to my £4.5k investment. Hope there is a rabbit coming out of the hat but....
I'll take 3p
I tend to agree with you on that one. I was a bit fan of this a few years back, but it usually doesn't bode well when the SP drifts for months down, especially after the decent news of hitting the 230 MeV and 1st patients due H2 2023. There were always people willing to back placings, but I'm sure the vultures will be circling to pick up the patents and technology and spit the rest out. Hope I'm wrong but I'm righting off my £4k
Maybe just encase him in it
UBS must notify, like everyone else from 3% upwards, so as this was the first one they must have bought pretty close together and not over a protracted time
Max, that's the exactly the point if the moneymen take it at 40p then they believe they can shift the shares. They could only believe that, if they have confidence that they can sell at a higher price than 40p, so, for that to happen then they must have a very high degree of certainty that the SP will go up. Anyone care to think why the SP will go up? Perhaps news might be imminent? Just a thought
Agreed and not below the SP, always good to see directors taking up in a placement too. With a timetable of milestones we have something to measure progress against too.
Interestingly if you look at the general Life Cycle of a Junior Miner,
http://juniormininganalyst.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/4072572-thumb.png
type it into Google and there are plenty of articles to read, there's a dip in SP as speculators leave during Feasibility and then as it enters Development the SP increases. I have seen this several times in my investments over the years.
Obviously, if we get bought out then SP shoots up then that's a different scenario. However, this is following the standard model of a explorer turning into miner. I know we are sat on huge resources but this is just how it goes. Barring some disaster we are heading for full value appreciation but it will be a few years down the line, unless a buyout happens.
It is a golden opportunity to buy. I topped up a few thousand shares a few weeks ago, but not got any more spare cash at the minute but I'll be buying SOLG and BMN when I do get some, though. I'd sell the wife and kids if I could, well maybe not the wife.
Didn't the 25-1 happen in 2016! So the rise in the last 2 years. as per my post, is a rise. It has tanked from the highs of 4 years ago, but this was a very speculative organisation and my average isn't great. But I have averaged down as I think that this is very near now.
I'm still struggling to understand that they are late.

The document above issued in December 2017 says that it will be delivered and installed in 2019. All the current timeline is that it will be installed this year. We are in May and that is only month 5 out of 12, unless I'm in a different dimension!
Fundamentally, any start up needs money and we are now resourced up, it's still not without risks, but I'm pretty confident that it's onwards and upwards from here.
Zoff, I was in Care Capital 10 years ago and I didn't sell when AVO demerged, in fact I've increased my stake as this technology is exciting.
My point is that you are implying that they have extended the dates all the time. Admittedly 4 years ago they said that they would be treating patients by end of 2017, but they have consistently said 2020 for 2 years now. I'm a bit perplexed by your RNS extract below as it doesn't really back up what you are saying?
The market reacted badly at the time that dates moved, but the market has been pretty good over the last 2 years coming from around 16p up to the price today. So in the last 2 years the price has improved and, effectively, the market is backing AVO. So I'm at a loss at why you are saying that they keep extending the dates, if they have the market would have reacted accordingly!
I have contacted them yesterday and I'm waiting for a call back, when I do I'll report anything back that I can.
Given the recent appointments and raising of cash then we are set for the final stage and the next year should be a game changer. The risks are rescinding and this is moving from a speculative buy to a Buy to a potential massive multibagger.
As always DYOR
Good luck and have a great weekend
Zoff why are you saying it's overdue? as far as I am aware the company is pretty much on track for the last 2 years

“The site is therefore expected to be ready for installation by H1 2019. Following regulatory approval and commissioning, the first patient treatment at Harley Street is expected in H2 2020.”
And
“Technology development
Further progress in the completion of the final stages of the manufacture of its first LIGHT system will continue throughout 2017 and the first LIGHT system is expected to be capable of treating superficial tumours in Q3 2018”
Q3 RNS in 2018 states...

“Professor Susan Smith, Head of STFC's Daresbury Laboratory, said: "Accelerating protons at an energy sufficient to treat superficial tumors, and firing them successfully through each of the key accelerating modules, is a major achievement for any accelerator project. At STFC we are committed to developing accelerator technology and expertise to address the world's key challenges, as well as to help businesses innovate to the benefit of our society and our economy. As such, we are pleased to host the testing and assembly site of AVO and be associated with this groundbreaking physics and medical project."
And current progress is
• July 19: First building site ready for fit-out
• Q3:19: All accelerating parts manufactured (for all tumours)
• H2:19: Partnership with a wellestablished US clinic
• H2:19: Improved proton beam performance
• Q4:19: Treatment plan system tailor-made to LIGHT
• Q4:19: Entire patient positioning system installed
• Q3:20: All accelerating structures positioned
• End of 2020: First patients
So all looks pretty much on track to me.
That's pretty good terms in all, 40p for institutional investors and 2% above Libor for Credit Suisse. That says to me that the lenders and IIs see that this isn't a very risky investment and is, in fact, a good investment opportunity. Look at SXX and how much they have had to discount their shares! I imagine that the news is pretty imminent, as they've managed to secure £12m, they couldn't have done that without some confident facts and figures to back them up.
Has anyone spoken to the management about news? They usually are pretty good at getting back to you with some info?
GLA
Agreed solid news, you don't agree to move to a start up company without some good evidence that everything is in place.
Have you emailed them? I spoke to their comms chap last year, they usually respond pretty quickly
Hold on to your hats she's gonna blow captain

Last year we got a technical update right at the end of the year. I'd hope we'd get another just to recap on what happened in 2018 and what we can look forward to in 2019, which is quite a lot. Why don't you ping them a message, from their website contact us, you should get a response from their Communications chap
GLA and hoping 2019 is the true pivotal year.
