Party Pooper, thanks for the tip on Zinsser Peel Stop, I’ve got a coat of it on the walls and today I’ll try to put a coat of paint on top, hopefully I’ll be happily surprised and the room will start to come together. I’m getting fed up with the job now, painting a bedroom is normally a couple of days work and job done. It will, like investing here be completed some time :-).

crippz, thanks mate. Because of the lockdown obviously I’ve not been able to get up there to the Commando memorial until now, but it’s a beautiful part of the world to visit, highly recommended for anyone who hasn’t been there.

Ian, would you please put my name down for Thursday the 26th of this month. I’m off up to the Highlands for a few days next week and I should be at Fort William. I’m off to the Commando memorial to pay my respects to my Dad in particular but all of the very brave warriors who ashes and memorials are placed there.

Hombre, thanks mate, it’s not new plaster I’ve decorated the room a few times and it’s been fine. I did use Laura Ashley paint the last time I decorated so it was reassuringly expensive :-)

Lancer, oddly enough I did sand down one wall with my trusty electric sander, applied a base coat of cheap white paint and it went on fine. Perhaps you’ve given me the answer in sanding down. Unfortunately my domestic supervisor gives me loads of grief over the amount of dust it creates. I’ll wait till she goes out then do it :-) lol.

Pbuzz5, thanks for the tip, I’ve found that out using trial and error. Unfortunately it’s taking lots of time to try and correct it. The funny thing is, I’m not really overworking the paint, I’m literally just going over the paint I’ve just applied to ensure there’s no gaps. Thanks for replying mate.

Morning Sax and Les, I’m actually having a nightmare with the walls. As I’m applying the vinyl Matt emulsion it’s tending to sort of peel or maybe remove the lower layer of emulsion. I don’t understand why it’s doing it. Today I’m going to wash it again with sugar soap let it dry the try painting again. Come on bod give me some good news and I’ll give the problem to a proper painter and decorator :-)
