He's suggesting the company needs to change internally to allow the success of its engineering prowess to benefit the shareholders.

I'd call that a 'Burning Bridge' myself.... something that will collapse if the flame eating away at the profit isn't put out from the core.

Spreads will hate this news. Shorters may even build back up above 1% , but this is basic economics.

I really should be cleaning my tale by now but this is absolutely spot on.
GE have succeeding in building long term investor funds based on solid instant economical returns as well as long term gains.

Hindsight is a great thing but any business model dedicated to service hours (long term) rather than sales value (short term) now look rather silly with the idea that Covid and other pandemics/wars/global instability will be in the future for RR.
I'm sure the suppliers of parts of RR engines aren't on the same credit facilities!
