Nothing stopping them buying shares but they would have to announce the share ownership as they cross certain thresholds. I am unsure what these are but will be 5% of issued share capital or less.
Imagine RKH state they have bought 5% of DES and the shares are no longer cheap!
So in simple terms it is not really possible.
Also as they mop up the shares then the price would have to rise as long term holders will also be in place.
Not really cricket... Far better to work with the directors and major shareholders and make it in there interest :-)
I think these will get bought out. If you investing billions then why do you want to consider a partner with a market cap of sub 50 million. Also if you are investing billions then why not another 100 million to increase your reserves and return on investment as well as having all the exploration acreage.
I don't think farm in but my money is these will be bought...
