You are right. It's a case of higher oil prices meaning the oil companies have more money to spend and more reason to spend it. Not overnight but in the near future.
Exactly. I often sell a stock I have long term confidence in if I don't think it's going to move much for a while and I see a good stock with a large dip (which I think it will quickly recover from). Then sell after the bounce and buy back into my long term hold.
15% down is rather excessive, never though it would go bellow the £2 level it was when they gave the last trading update. Wonder just how many stop losses kicked in.
PFCvet, relax. Take a step back and remember why you are here. The market will go up and the market will go down. I am always truly amazed by how much it over shoots and undershoots at these times. Look around at the market and see how down it was today. Big things do happen and turn markets on their heads. Like Corvid and Potential War. what I am trying to say is, "yes" these are unusual times "but all times are unusual times". just look at the market in the long term. There are times when the market is down but then there are times when the market is up.
10.5m trades yesterday. Been a lot of selling the last couple of weeks or so. Company specific factors usually outweigh sector performance so think it's actually held up well with all the selling.
It's the volumes that I don't get. Wood has had about 750,000 shares traded and PFC nearly 5,000,000. Even with the price difference the volume s on PFC are way up for some reason.
Ever since last week Thursday when we first hit 115p it's just been stuck here. Normally I would think nothing of it but the sheer number of shares being traded makes me think something is uppening.
Some people may have OCD and only like round numbers. May have 299,999 and buy one to make it a nice round 300,000. Or have 300,001 and sell one to round down to 300,000. Isn't that right Bearhunter.
Nothing to stop them from looking at it before their scheduled periodic period if there is good reason too. Like PFC making the past payment to end the SFO matter. I'm sure PFC management will be making calls for the matter to be looked at as soon as they thing a decision will be made in PFC's favour.
