RE: Interim PPA23 Nov 2020 23:21
Hi Thornback, there's a couple of reasons I'd like to see the ppa signed off, firstly because this is Botswana and a spoken agreement (in any country) means nothing in a court of law, being in Botswana where they seem to be incapable of getting anything off the ground I would say it's more important than ever to actually get pen to paper. While it's not signed it's like saying we have billions of cubic feet of gas but don't know when we'll be able to make use of it, oh we have that problem too.
The second reason is because it demonstrates a solid commitment from the government which up to now has talked a lot but not actually nailed anything down.
The third reason is it proves that our directors can get something signed off and God knows they need it after the last few years of drought. It all very well them batting it away as if it's just a formality, that's how TG came across when he last mentioned it. It was like oh we have the PPA agreement job done. No we don't not until it's signed off! We all remember Colms famous words about financing being so so close, what, a year ago now? So as I say until it's in black and white and rns'ed I don't trust that it's actually agreed. Once bitten and all that. And just as an aside when are we supposed to have the full PPA? I would have thought that would be the more likely to turn up with financing but who knows!
If we get nothing this year. No gas, no ppa, no financing, no power sharing agreements, no solar no nothing how long are we supposed to keep on just believing in Tony? Another year? Another 3 years? I want concrete progress not rumour and speculation and I want proper updates about what the hell we're doing month after month. Flow rates at Lesedi, the power mix plan, how many megawatts, length of time to get connected. We're treated like mushrooms kept in the dark and fed a load of s****
