Intandem - one of ten film companies in the World to win California Film Commission tax credit funding
Intandem Films Plc., the London and Los Angeles based international film group, announces that it is one of only ten companies in the World to secure financing via the California Film Commission (CFC) Tax Credit Lottery - the annual selection of films and TV shows eligible to receive a tranche of the $100m allotted for state film tax credits.
The Company is co-producing 10 Things I Hate About Life, which was picked as one of only 10 films to receive a tax credit out of over 300 applicants. It will receive $1.76 million from CFC to help fund the humorous, life-affirming love story, which centres around two people in their late twenties, whose lives have become unmanageable. Filming will begin this November in Los Angeles.
In addition to being responsible for raising the production finance for the film for which it will earn producer fees, Intandem has worldwide sales rights to the film and will earn 15% commission on all sales. The Company achieved presales of almost $2million at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Furthermore, the Company will release the film in the UK and will earn fees of 35% on all revenue generated in the UK including cinema, dvd, television and airlines.
10 Things I Hate About Life was written by and is to be directed by Gil Junger - the multiple award winning director of the globally successful 10 Things I Hate About You which starred Heath Ledger and grossed $50 million in sales worldwide and $5m in the UK.
10 Things I Hate About Life will star rising talent Hayley Atwell whose credits include Cassandra's Dream, The Duchess, Brideshead Revisited and most recently she was the female lead in Paramount Pictures' Captain America: the First Avenger.
Andrew Lazar (10 Things I Hate About You, Cats & Dogs and Get Smart), a leading US Producer based at Warner Bros, whose box office revenues have exceeded $500 million, will be the producer, along with Intandem's CEO, Gary Smith.
