I have been here for around this time and remember so clearly the hype. Since then I have looked at many AIM stocks some that have a 'David Koresh' (remember him) style level of following, eg UKOG. But all of these AIM junior oilers and miners follow almost exactly the same course it actually uncanny -- Float at tiny cash, Hype and then a 100's of % rise followed by a sharp drop and then a decline for many years back to the tiny cash price or below. Along the way there are maybe several name changes and also probably a re-indexing of the shares - both designed to mask the poor performance to prospective new shareholders.
Also, none of these companies can ever raise finance from anybody without dilution and rarely get institutional interest unless its to buy bargain-basement placement shares.
AIM is a real sewer and if it was a CASINO it would probably be raided and closed down !
AIM is a sewer inhabited by so called businessmen who have either been kicked out of mainstream exec positions or realise how easy it is to start an AIM co and fleece PI's with no fears of any legal redress. The list of guilty parties is endless - SOU/KOD/BZM(went bust with none of the value that was touted)/UKOG/EMH(at the moment) and of course KDNC.
I would love to know how much these directors read or use these boards as they do influence people in spite of what people think, which IMO is why on almost every AIM BB there is a small crew of 'cheerleaders' who never waver in support of each particular stock.
I am trying to extract myself from AIM as soon as is reasonable but have been trading, (not usually my style) main market shares and ETF's fairly successfully I would urge many of you to reflect on all of this as if I could save one person a few grand I would have achieved something !
