Anyway there are red flags all over this share so I won’t buy back in at this point, but may do so if the price drops below 1p and there is a SHAG formed.

My gut feeling is that any HE1 funds will end up in the BOD or Gneiss pockets and we will see the begging bowl out again.

Gut tells me this year will average 60 - 65. OPEC pumping will offset some of the draws and international travel will just offset any further pumping.....we will fall back into that range and stay put. I would like to see 70+ but not convinced

SHS - that is totally different. XOM were burying their heads in the sand. It’s a hedge fund interested in money only that are on the board. All they want is XOM to recognise that the world is changing and that in 30 years time there might not be a market for the volumes they produce now. European majors are way past that and have a balanced strategy.

The eco warriors need to be allied with big oil to succeed. Sadly these types don’t see shades of grey. You need to use the system to make changes. Tearing everything up and trying to destroy great companies (especially the European majors who are already making a good effort) is not a solution.

Personally I have invested quite a lot in clean energy startups. I think that’s the way to make money long term in that space. Valuations are to high to pick up anything that generates cash. That is why I think SCIr will struggle with their strategy.

SHS - you are talking about tearing up the whole world order. It won’t happen.

If the IEA advice were followed then the world would descend into chaos. Decline rates of 10% a year for oil mean that renewables would need to pick up that demand, or price will kill the demand (ie halt progress and advancement). It’s counter productive.

We will see carbon pricing for sure, but courts telling companies how to run their business is a step too far. It is for governments to use policy to drive change. The shell ruling will be appealed and overturned.

The UK have a very sensible policy.

Banana - read the UK government strategy. Maximising economic recovery. It’s all about exploiting resources in the most efficient way.

Big hubs like this will be developed IMHO.

Exploration will be the first to stop. Luckily we have plenty of discoveries to exploit

I doubt it Chris- ESG is making oil and gas more expensive due to under investment. These numbskulls aren’t going to be allowed to trash civilisation and the capitalist model for their utopia.

And to be clear before you all jump up and down. I 100% support transitioning to new energy etc. It’s just that there is demand for oil. Do we really want to hand control and profits over to Iran and Saudi Arabia?? And private companies that don’t give a F£@& about the environment?

I didn’t like the deal, but as you are allowing for hindsight to now claim it was a bad deal....Realistically they would have brought in a fantastic income with Dutch gas now at €25 /MWh. These activists are hardly going to come after an £8 million market cap company like SCIR. In this case a bad deal was better than cancelling the deal IMHO after the fees and penalties.

Their reliance on related party “expertise”, and the prices paid out to consultants is another red flag.

We will need to wait and see if their behaviour has changed.

Oxygen, Ammu - agree with your points. It is going to be 5 to 10 years in the UK. The rest of the developed world might not be much further behind once the big fuel retailers start adding charging points to the mix.

As has been mentioned the bigger challenges come in developing countries where the grid can’t support it. Though you could have renewables micro grid. There are all sorts of things being pursued and we may well need different solutions. America may need to go the hydrogen route if they want to keep their SUVs and trucks.
